He didn't even know it was ******** Colt...

I also found out tonight another friend of mine might have one of the original Lugers in her house from her great grandfather.
They don't even know what the ******** they are.

RIP THEM OFF

As much as I would hate to do that.
I would totally rip them off.

That or some douchebag dealer will rip them off.
Then they'll sell it for mega profit.

Better you rip them off and keep it.
If you can, see if you can get any documentation on the firearms. I'm sure that increases the resale value if you ever have to.

Well, that's the problem. I'd have to wait a while to do so.
They may not know much about them, but their fathers do.

Damn. You could offer them an honest deal then (or only lowball them by a few bucks). Tell them if they try to sell it to a dealer knowing as little as they do, they'll get cheated.

Oh the fathers do?

Yeah never mind.

Again, I'll say this.

The dealers don't give a s**t about what the item's history is unless it adds value to the piece.
Collectors, all the good ones do care about the item's history.
I would like to have the documentation just to prove that it was brought back and also interesting because it says who brought it back and by who's authority.

One of the COs that my great uncle was serving under didn't want his 'soldiers' to bring home captured firearms.
So he sent the Mauser back to the States piece by piece.
