So I was walking around the gun show, saw a Remington Springfield 03A3 for 575, saw a few mausers, prices on ARs jumped, and then I spotted it. Laying on the table. I immediately tapped my dad on the shoulder and pointed to her.

She was gleaming and looking pretty.
Century Arms Cetme for 630. The exact gun I'd been looking for. She came with two 20 round Cetme mags, and one five rounder. I also bought two extra 20 round Cetme mags.

all in all, she cost like 670 when everything was said and done.

I'll have pics up soon. I stripped her down to her basics, and god damn she's easy. The insides are so simple, Frez could do it! The biggest trouble I had was cleaning the cosmoline off the mags. I'm going to be using hot water from now on, alcohol seems to mess up the finish.

I wouldn't bet on it.

Anywho, damn you all for buying new rifles. I'm actually debating whether a $7.50 cocking piece to fix my Enfield is breaking my budget.

Poor Fresnel.

Nice grab on that CETME.

Well, you should have learned sooner, in that thread about my Tokarev I cleaned off my magazines for that with hot water.

Yeah, I'm nervous about getting an 03A3 since a bunch of people told me to worry about the casting numbers.
It's unfortunate because I found some that were pretty cheap. Or at least what I would consider cheap. Maybe they were the bad ones, I dunno.

I'm looking at a Taurus 1911B.

BUT, it looks like I'm going ot have to pay for it myself, with whatever I can scrape up ALONG WITH my Christmas money, insteado f actually getting it for Christmas. And that's because Mom has been blowing all her money just because she got some. I'm the only one who'se paid ANYTHING on it, and that was $20 to put it on layaway.

These bans are gettign ******** rediculous. A mod has it out for me, apparently.

Frez: Do it f*****t!

Barru: What do you mean? I would have gotten it if I hadn't already been looking for something.

Indeed. A SINGLE WARNING at that.

Who else had professed being after a Taurus PT1911 (blued) in the last couple days?

I would be, if I could even own a gun. A real 1911 is the best, but a good clone is the next best thing.

First gun I'm picking up when I'm able to buy (and that includes having the money and a place of my own) is a shotgun. I've even got the reqs for it already. Just need to start looking for one.

Unless you are buying a REALLY old 1911 or from Colt, you're ONLY getting a clone.

The designs are the same two basic designs. Series 70, and Series 80. They have certain differences, such as the Series 80's firing pin block.
Now, what the Taurus is, a Series 80 1911 pattern pistol. It has lots of what would be considered high-end features that usually come with the $1000+ custom guns, while retaining the price of a low-end 1911. They started out at about $500, and the MSRP for the Blued version has gone up to $752 in about two years. Now, there are a few problems. On SOME of them, the finish is thin. On others, the finish is damn near indestructible. Hit or miss. On the EARLY generations, the ambi safety was not pressed together properly during factory construction. Usually, this is fixed by flipping the safety to the half-way mark, and pushing it together. Some of the earlier ones have mis-sized or stretched tabs on the safety, which can be solved by taking it out to examine it and probably pinching the tabs together.

I was kinda disappointed about the lack of buzz about the 2007 National Rifle Matches.
