Old 360 finally died about two months ago, last week I found a replacement motor and began the swap. normally, I would have built a hotrod motor, but time, budget, and space was limited so I just swapped in a good running stock motor. Hotrod comes later.

I'm not surprised.
Old cars always leak oil, unless they're rebuilt motors, and if they don't leak oil you might want to check your oil level because, it's probably empty.

What's that tracked vehicle that I spot off to the left on that 2nd picture?

118 thousand miles and my car STILL doesn't leak oil. I have no idea why, but I don't question it.

Its empty. Or the seals are still good, 118k isn't that much. My truck has over 300,000 on it, possibly as much as 400,000 (its only got a 5-digit odometer.)

Yes, it leaked a lot. about a liter ever 1000km.

Its a Hagglund.

Every time I get the oil changed they comment about how little loss there is. I mean, I've gone about 10k miles between oil changes before, and no loss to speak of.

And since you just said that, it will now.
