Thank god...she ruined twilight. I mean, come on, the least important scene was blood typing (the director said herself)? NOooooo, that was one of the most important scenes, and on finding out Edward is a vampire.

Hmm. Well, New Moon should be interesting lol. I can't wait to find out who the new director is! Hopefully a good one.... Catherine Hardwicke is a good director, but not for movies like Twilight...she cut out some really vital scenes, and the movie had no direction (but i still lovedddd the movie!!) But I just hope that the next director keeps in the vital scenes, and adds much more direction. And hopefully, New Moon will be longer. =) They have millions of more dollars to work on this than Twilight, so it better be brilliant! :]
K, I'm done ranting now... xD

I am kind of glad. Don't get me wrong, I think she did a good job, but I think New Moon should be a little different.

I found this story on imdb forums.Quote: This weekend it was announced that Catherine Hardwicke was fired from "NEW MOON", the sequel to Summit Entertainment's smash hit "TWILIGHT". The same source that broke that news, Deadline Hollywood, reports that Chris Weitz has been offered the opportunity to not only direct "NEW MOON", but also "ECLIPSE", the third adaptation in the four book franchise by Stephenie Meyer. The site reports that Weitz is considering the offer and that he might direct "NEW MOON" and "ECLIPSE" back-to-back. Why this choice is interesting is because Weitz recently directed "THE GOLDEN COMPASS" for New Line Cinema, which was one of the potential reasons for their downfall. I never saw Golden Compass. link

i dont want a horrible director for our movies. i actually liked the golden compass. it had alot of special effects though, and i don't like movies with alot of special effects just because they don't look good. it was pretty well directed...from what i remember, haha. i saw it on the airplane last winter...so it's been a while. i think if i remember correctly...the golden compass is a book, and i never read the book...so maybe it was a downfall compared to the book. if so then i don't want him to direct the movie either. haha.

Yep it's common, it's actually pretty rare for a director to do more then 1 or 2. Examples: '90s Batman series--> Tim Burton only directed the first 2 out of 4, Harry Potter-->Chris Columbus only directed the first 2.

I never saw Golden Compass. link uh-oh. the golden compass had no direction either. i understood nothing in that movie. i just stared at daniel craig. it made no sense, except for daniel craig. but still.. they gotta hire someone like christopher nolan. it doesn't have to be him, but someone as talented. he literally spiced up the burton-made batman (not that i hate tim burton, i absolutely adore him) and made one of the most unforgettable batman movies. they need to make new moon sparkle! ...without the sparkly fake sounds. XD
