You might know I'm looking at pistols and weighing what I really want with what I ought to have with an Obama dictatorship in the future. What I ought to have is something black that holds a lot of bullets. I was thinking XD-9 or maybe a G17, then I saw this at Academy.

Now I've seen it before, but some guy was looking over it and I got to have a closer look. I don't care for the fruity look of the breech when closed, but hey, it's not bad looking. And it's got the Beretta name, right?

Tom has one in .40 S&W.

Pretty decent, although personally, I don't like it.

The slide release lever is located where I put my left thumb when I shoot.
The "recoil-reducing barrel" doesn't do much, IMHO. It just makes it significantly louder.
It's also, possibly, just another thing that can go wrong.

As a possible upside however, it does share magazines with the Cx4 Storm carbine, should you ever decide to get one.

Stoic, me being a left-handed shooter, would that be an issue for me? the thumb on the slide release thing? I don't think it would...

I don't know, and being 15 years old w/o access to the safe, I couldn't really check for you.

I also don't really know how ambidextrous it is.

Stoic, me being a left-handed shooter, would that be an issue for me? the thumb on the slide release thing? I don't think it would...

AFAIK, it can be turned around to suit lefties like a 92.

I think that the mags are unique to the PX4 though. The CX4 takes 92/96 mags.

Beretta says ******** about it even though I'd consider it a selling point, but Wiki says the Px4, Cx4 and 92/96 can all share magazines, assuming the caliber matches.

I read somewhere the CX4 has different models to share magazines with the different pistols.

Yeah, and one of them was ******** weird... 9x21 IMI. But yeah, the .40 Cx4 is interchangeable with the .40 Px4 and the 96, the 9mm with the matching Px4 and 92...

That could be very handy, what with the popularity of the 92, mags would be easy to find. +1 with that.

Not to mention it's cheaper than the XD, looks better than Glock, uses steel and plastic, and is hammer-fired which I prefer to striker-fired.

I'm liking it...

Personally I say go with an SA XDM-9.

Won pistol of the year twice, and 19+1 rounds of 9mm. 'Nuff said.

So I was reading GUNS magazine earlier this morning, and they had a four-page article on the Px4. Said the damn thing was the bee's knees, and they test-fired about 2000 rounds through one, TRYING to make it jam, limp-wristing and using muddy magazines, and it cycled 2000 rounds flawlessly; no jams, no misfires. They also said it has nice big fat sights that are really easy to see. It's about $100 cheaper than an XDM too.
