Salam! I whant a good reason this time WHY IS IT HARAM TO CELEBRATE BIRTHEY?

No! That hadith about if you are in something, you are part of it! Cause if I am in a christian country, it dossen't mean I'm christian! And if You go in a church, it dossen't mean your christian. If You celebrate birthey, it dossen't mean your christian. RIGHT?

Alsalam Alaykum ~

The evidence in the Qur’aan and Sunnah indicates that celebrating birthdays is a kind of bid’ah or innovation in religion, which has no basis in the pure sharee’ah. It is not permitted to accept invitations to birthday celebrations, because this involves supporting and encouraging bid’ah. Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Or have they partners with Allaah (false gods) who have instituted for them a religion which Allaah has not allowed…?” [al-Shoora 42:21]

“Then We have put you (O Muhammad) on a plain way of (Our) commandment. So follow that, and follow not the desires of those who know not. Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allaah (if He wants to puish you). Verily, the zaalimoon (wrongdoers) are awliyaa’ (protectors, helpers, etc.) to one another, but Allaah is the Wali (Protector, Helper) of the muttaqoon (pious).” [al-Jaathiyah 45:18-19]

“Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow not any awliyaa’ (protectors, helpers, etc.) besides Him. Little do you remember!” [al-A’raaf 7:3]

According to saheeh reports, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever does something that is a not part of this matter of ours (i.e., Islam) will have it rejected” (reported by Muslim in his Saheeh); and “The best of speech is the Book of Allaah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The most evil of things are those which have been newly invented (in religion), and every innovation is a going astray.” There are many other ahaadeeth that convey the same meaning.

Besides being bid’ah and having no basis in sharee’ah, these birthday celebrations also involve imitation of the Jews and Christians in their birthday celebrations. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, warning us against following their ways and traditions: “You would follow the ways of those who came before you step by step, to such an extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would enter it too.” They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians?” He said, “Who else?” (Reported by al-Bukhaari and Muslim). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.

I don't think Birthdays are a religious thing. o0 (That is what you mean, right? Birthdays?) I know people of different religions that celebrate their birthdays.

it depends on why do you celebrate it and how do you celebrate it...remember..only Allah can decide what our doing is right of wrong if it out the Quran n sunnah

Well the Tradition of Birthday's is not a Christian Tradition it is a Cultural one that happend to pop up in a christian country.

It started out in the Cult of Mithras in persia, and was spread by Roman soldiers Long long before Christinity had even been a twinkling in the eyes of history.

It is a tradition of cultural, like the British Tradition of Firstfoot , that the first person in your house after Midnight on years eve should be given a Drink of Whisky, and congrautlated for being the first to enter your house this year.

Or the tradition of when you buy someone a wallet or a purse you should put a penny so that the wallet may hopefully be full, and the owner wealthy.

Or the Arab tradition that licking your plate clean is an insult, so really as it is not a Religious Tradition it shoul be fine to celirate within the laws of Islam.

I am pretty sure that birthday's aren't religious at all... In fact, I would think they are not Christian. Because, well, we don't incorporate Jesus into them (except for Christmas! :])

Salam:

What does bid'ah mean? confused

And If I see it from another perspectiv:

If I say my friend Christian smokes, but he's my friend. Do I follow him? No. Because I know it's not good.
If my friend Jew, likes to, walk, walking is good...But (just for the example) Islam says: walking isn't good, you harm your self and you kill small small insects, and things...it's not good they say.,
or something like that...

Okay that might have been a little too complicated, and well I lost the point! of course..

The thing is, even if it's written in the qur'an, and it's the words of Allah, (SWT) it's still doesn't make sence to me... crying

Birthdays, (what you call Birthey), is not religious. Unless you celebrate Christmas, which is when us Christians celebrate the birth of the Messiah unto this world.

Anyways, all birthdays are is the celebration of someone being alive for another year! :] It is also the celebration of the persons day of birth. (Hence the name birth-day). Make sense?

Ya, but why haram?
"

Its not Harem , thats what we have been saying, since it is a cultural tradition and not a christian one, there is no problem with attending or celibrating Birthdays.

Added to the fact that it remains un-mentiond in Shariha law also backs this up.

Birthdays=Not Harem
Now go have fun
