Awake and relatively unharmed by her last little adventure with Fafnir, Alcmene was being punished for her foolishness and had been kept away from her friends and under close watch by her parents. She was still a bit shaky and a bit thinner seeming from the lack of food for the time she'd been asleep, but she was recovering well and those were the only side effects. Lucky for her, she'd even awoken under a full moon. Still heiress and now feeling guilty, she was doing her best to correct her error and behave her very best. When she'd been informed of her attendance to the celebration for Fafnir and his siblings, she had to hide her excitement and anxiety.
Fafnir was her best friend and she cared about him. He hadn't wanted to get into trouble, and now she was certain he must have. For that, she was feeling very guilty. She felt very guilty about this all.
She spent most of the ceremony sitting by her father, watching and avoiding watching Fafnir as much as possible. But as the official introductions died down and the party divided up into smaller conversations, she could only sit off to the side by herself.

It had been a hard time for him, to be quite honest. Even if he hadn't gotten in too much trouble himself, there had been one standing punishment - he wasn't allowed to go see Ally. He hadn't been sure if this was his own punishment, or if it was hers and just involved him, but either way it had been completely miserable for him. He had heard from his mother that she finally woke up and seemed to be alright, though other than that, she refused to say. He felt terrible because he knew that it was his fault, even if he didn't make her eat it. She wanted him to have fun, and she was doing careless things for him. While it was fun sometimes, they kept getting into trouble. What if her dad made them stay away from one another forever eventually? He didn't think he could take that.
When he walked into the ceremony, glum face as usual, he had been quite surprised to see Ally there. Though, as it went on, it seemed as if she were avoiding him and he had to wonder if perhaps she blamed him for getting her into trouble again. The thought made his chest hurt, and a frown soon appeared on his mug. As time wore on and they were finally allowed to talk to other lions around them, Faf found himself only partially listening to anything that was being said to him. He had seen her by herself out of the corner of his eye and with each passing moment, he was growing more and more restless.
Finally, unable to take it any longer, he excused himself from the group he was talking to and made his lumbering way in her direction. He'd hit another growth spurt, and he was still a little awkward in his big paws, especially with his mane growing in and hanging in his eyes from time to time. Still, he was adamant about what he was doing, even if his ears lowered a little each time an adult cast him a glance, as if they knew he shouldn't be. Would her dad be angry with him for talking to her? He didn't know how long he was supposed to stay away, but since his mother hadn't stopped him yet, maybe it'd be alright.
"Ally?" he said as he drew up, watching her from behind a tuft of mane. "You okay?"

Every once in a while, while looking around anxiously and trying to look interested rather than upset or bored, she couldn't help but glance at Fafnir. And every time she paused at him, she'd immediately look back at her father. She didn't think he was watching her that carefully right now. She did notice when he started walking towards her, and she fidgeted and her eyes flew to her father. He wasn't looking, but she hadn't exactly been reminded of her punishment before the ceremony. So maybe it was OK. She definitely didn't want to ignore him, and if he was mad he didn't seem the type who would come up specifically to tell her so. Ally did not even factor rank into that imagining.
"Hey Fafnir," she responded quietly, glancing quickly to her father and then back to her friend, "I'm okay, a-are you?"

Fafnir threw a wary glance in the direction of her father, though upon not seeing him glaring at him, or acting as if he might storm over at any second, he continued to brave it out against all odds. His heart was racing and he was sure any second he was about to be reprimanded, but he really needed to talk to her and make sure that she was OK.
"I'm fine, I was just worried about you," he said with a little frown on his mug, grinding a paw into the dirt beneath him, "mum said I couldn't go see you, and even though they told me you were okay, I was still, y'know?" He shifted a little, glancing at her father again, and then back to her. "I guess you're okay though, since you're here and all."

Alcmene's eyes searched for Fafnir's parents when he said his mother had told him he couldn't see her. She wondered if their parents had spoken, but they must have. Her father had told her they had done their best to keep the situation from becoming public knowledge in case something did go wrong.. but of course Fafnir would know, and his parents at least. She looked back to Fafnir, frowning.
"I'm fine," she repeated, and continued shakily, "S-so, you're not mad at me?"

Fafnir's brows show up a little at the question, his ears laying back just a fraction more than they already had been. That was possibly the last thing he had expected out of her mouth and the surprise that overtook him was so great that he momentarily forgot all about her looming father. He probably didn't have it in him to get very angry at anyone, let alone at her, so the mere idea of that was preposterous. Besides, she hadn't done anything to make him made in the first place as far as he could tell.
"Why would I be mad at you?" he questioned with a confused tone to his voice, raised brows falling to furrow into a 'v' like shape. "You didn't do anything to make me mad."

Her ears turned at the face he gave her. Even if he didn't realize it, she thought he did have reason to be upset. And if he wasn't upset, she didn't really want to remind him of reasons why he could be. Nervously, she pawed at the ground and looked down when he questioned her. With a small sigh, and a slight quiver, she looked back up at him.
"I promised I wouldn't get us into anymore trouble," she pointed out, shaking her head and, as she had been doing a great deal lately, she apologized, "I'm sorry."

"What?" he asked rather suddenly, though he did have the good sense to make his voice softer, for he nearly yelped it from his sheer shock. The way she was acting right now hurt to see, like she thought he might yell at her at any second, or get angry with her over something like that. He frowned deeper and brought himself to sit down at her side, his mane fluff flopping down across one pale eye.
"Don't be silly," he said softly, leaning in to look at her, "you weren't trying to get us in trouble, it just kind of happened. I'm not so dense that I'd hold it against you." He could be slow sometimes, and he was utterly shy, but he did like to think he was reasonable. "So cheer up, okay? I'm sure your dad will let us play again sometime, he can't keep you a prisoner from me forever, and then everything will be okay. Right?" He managed a weak smile as he spoke, eyes watching her. It was such a relief just to see her again, he had to admit, that even if he was angry, he wouldn't have managed it for very long.

"Well, no," she agreed. She hadn't been trying to get them into trouble, but she hadn't been trying before. She hadn't ignored her appointment with her father that first time intentionally and she'd been made to promise not to let it happen again- by the both of them. If anything had been intentional, Ally would certainly have to try harder when apologizing but she felt she still owed it. If it were an innocent accident, no one would have gotten mad- and she knew quite a few lions who were unhappy with what she had done.
She sighed. Even with Fafnir being so understanding, Ally couldn't help but feel guilty. And at the mention of her father, she glanced back over in his direction- their eyes met briefly, but he didn't look mad exactly. And he wasn't coming over to break up the conversation. It was a good sign, so she looked back to her friend and tried to smile.
"Ok," she finally agreed, though reluctantly, "S-so, now you're officially in middle class." Small talk wasn't so easy, but she wasn't sure what else to talk about. They'd never officially acknowledged Fafnir's class, it was a novel topic. And it was the whole point of the ceremony they were at.

He nodded as she finally agreed with him, but he wished he could take away the sad look on her face. She really hadn't made him angry, upset, or anything with what she had done. All he had truthfully felt was worry, and it was because they wouldn't let him get close to her. Now that he was finally here, even that had ebbed away.
"Yes, I guess I am," he said, turning to look out at all the gathered groups of lions still talking - at his siblings. He had missed the glance from her father, but then, that might have been for the best given his skittish nature. "I guess that means we might not have much time to play anymore, either. I have duties and all that now." As he said this last bit, a marked frown passed his maw. He really was going to have to grow up and do his duty now.

Ally almost frowned at the turn her small-talk conversation had taken. She didn't like the idea of not seeing him at all, it was sad enough waiting this long. She might have felt she deserved her punishment, but that didn't mean she enjoyed it. Not to mention, she'd always had duties and it hadn't stopped her from playing.
Though, it had been the source of a lot of the trouble they got into.
"Well, you're a hunter, right?" she looked around, stopping on the form of her rather crabby looking uncle momentarily before looking back, "That's not always busy, right?"

He tilted his head at her words, considering them. He needed to train, and that undoubtedly would take up a lot of his time - it wasn't as if his mother or father had spent much time before teaching him that. He didn't suspect they had ever had much of a need to hunt here, and only did so when they were rogues out necessity.
"Well, I guess once I'm done with training, I won't be that busy. I don't suppose hunters have to hunt all the time," he said softly, turning to look back at her, instead of where he had been examining those around them. "Maybe they won't keep me too busy, and then we can play, yeah? Well, supposing that your dad lets you see me anytime soon." A troubled frown crossed his maw then, his tail flicking against his legs.

Her nose wrinkled at the mention of training to hunt. She had completely forgotten about that. It was one of the few things she wasn't actually being taught so she hadn't even been thinking about. Her eyes went back to her uncle and she stared for a moment.
"He doesn't seem to mind right now," she pointed out about her father, glancing back towards where she had last seen him and not finding him, then she looked back to Fafnir, "My uncle is the head hunter, you know. I suppose he'll be the one training you. My father doesn't get along with him much."

"Oh?" he said with a hint of surprise to his tone, shifting his paws a little before he nervously glanced back to where he had last seen her father. He was gone, but Faf wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing. He just hoped that his lack of overseeing meant that maybe he was ready to trust his daughter again, and him with her. "I hope that's a good sign, then," he said with a weak smile, turning to look back at her.
At the mention of her uncle, though, the smile faded and the frown returned - though this time it was one of thought that made his brows furrow lightly. "I've heard that," he said with a flick of his tail, "my mother and father, they're always gossiping with one another about things that are going on, about.. a lot of stuff." He had never really had a head for it, but they seemed to enjoy it.
"You don't think he'll be too tough, do you?" He didn't really know him personally, but he sincerely hoped he wouldn't be.

Ally definitely took it as a good sign that her father had not come and interrupted them. She took another look around to make sure he wasn't actually stomping over that very moment, and when she didn't see him she dared to smile and look back at Fafnir. She wasn't too surprised he hadn't realized it was her uncle. They looked a lot a like, she and Njiru, but her uncle could stand to smile a bit more and from the front he mostly looked black and white. It also wasn't surprising his parents would have been talking about him. They were high class and had no responsibilities to the pride, they were able to observe the social interactions easily. Besides, as Ally had gotten bigger, she had learned just how well known his dislike of her father was. Moreso how it had calmed down when he had married, anyway.
"I don't know, I haven't had any training or observation with him," she shrugged, "But he was nice when I was talking to him one time, even if dad doesn't like him." Ally really did love her parents and their opinion influenced her opinions and impressions.
