So could someone explain to my why the Red Ring of Death occurs? What causes it and how is it fixed? scream

Why does it occur: dunno.

How is it fixed: there have been no reported cases of a Red-ring positive 360 being fixed. Once it gets the RROD, it's all over.

Send it to Microsoft. It gets fixed or they send you a new one. End of story. Good ol' 360, it's like a computer for those who don't like quality. Though I must admit, I have my eye on buying one for convenience's sake.

You can also do the towel trick which is a temporary fix. You wrap your 360 in a towel and leave it on for like 30 minutes. Then it starts working again. Look it up on youtube or something.

Mine had RROD and then i told it that i was going to go buy a PS3 instead and it started working again. Now it works better than ever and live runs twice as fast.

I've had 3 normals and 2 elites already YAY! I'm on my 6th xbox i wonder why i keep getting them then ... Hmm i might think about that

but my elite lasted about 3 years still havent got it fixed

Getting a RROD is kinda of a god send if your warranty on your 360 goes out. Not only do you get a free fix, you get 3 new Gold member trials and a extended warranty. Mainly i would care about the warranty.

If you really want to protect your investment from the heat, i recommend buying a laptop cooling fan. Just lay your xbox 360 on that and it should keep it at a low temperature.
