Dimly, she realized she was getting farther away from the Simbafutaji lands, where she had met the cub who had suggested she join the pride. With all the walking she had done however, Waridi'eusi was starting to doubt that a life of a wanderer was suitable for her. Though she did meet a few others on her journey, she was mostly alone as she followed the wind aimlessly, not knowing where she was going.
Sighing, the lioness flopped down on the ground, resting her head on her paws. What did she want, really? She questioned herself. If even she herself didn't know the answer, how would she find it?
(Roll her rank as middle class+ please? <3)

Thankfully, things were settling down again for Unyezi. His daughter was healthy and her position was secure. Nevertheless, he had been keeping a closer eye on the heiress and only recently had he decided it was no longer absolutely necessary. He had seen something very interesting at the last ceremony to welcome a litter of cubs into their class, and after one particular encounter he could not stop thinking.. and he wanted to stop, he wasn't having a very cheerful time in his own mind. So he was aiming to keep busy.
With guard numbers still rather low, he gladly took to duty upon himself. Until the numbers were greater, the king had to take a more active role in the monitoring and guardianship of the pride. And that was OK with Unyezi. It wasn't a bad way to occupy your time, usually is was just a long walk around the territory. And sometimes, sometimes you found something or someone. And that appeared to be the case. Were it not the daytime, Unyezi might have missed her entirely but a dark lioness in the bright surroundings was hard to miss. They were not so far into the lands, but they were certainly not at the borders. It would be worth investigation! So he jogged forward to check it out, glad to have a distraction.
"Hello there," he called.

The lioness raised her head to observe the approaching lion with a curious gaze, noting the strange necklace around his neck. Waridi'eusi got up from her position and bowed her head, greeting him in return. Mother had always taught her to be polite, and even out of the restraints of her previous pride, she still found that it had grown into a habit. "Hello." She replied.

Polite was a good thing, and helped to create a good first impression. He offered a friendly smile and nodded his head in return.
"I am Unyezi, king of the Mwezi'Johari," he introduced himself politely, "You seem to have wandered into our lands." His words were not threatening, they were not worried- they were curious and rather welcoming. He wasn't sure if it was an accident or an intentional visit but until he was given a reason to behave otherwise, he was friendly.

"I am Waridi'eusi." She introduced herself in return, eyes widening slightly as he continued speaking. He didn't seem to be too mad about it though; it rather reminded her of the cub that was curious that she had gotten so close to their pride borders earlier on in her journey.
"I'm sorry; I had no intention of trespassing." She gave him an apologetic smile.

"No harm done," he said brightly at her apology for trespassing. She posed no threat by herself and they were so far into the territory that it would be foolish to try, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Waridi'eusi. Is there something you're looking for? Perhaps I could help." One did not often wander into an unknown territory when they knew exactly where they were going. It was a fair question.

She hesitated, struck wordless by his question. What was she looking for, really? She was just walking about aimlessly, not knowing where to go. The lioness heaved a sigh, and figured she needed to give him an answer. "I'm not...sure, exactly." She confessed, her tail swishing from side to side as she struggled with the jumbled words in her head.
"I've just been wandering about, honestly."

Just as Waridi'eusi had hesitated from her, he couldn't help but hesitate at her response. She was only wandering, then there wasn't a great deal he could do to help her. She had been warned of her trespassing, she would know not to linger if she did not want to be bothered about it. So he nodded, and that was all.

"Perhaps." She said, the words slowly coming into clarity in her mind. "I've been wandering about so much that...I forgot what having a home is like." The lioness sighed and looked up at Unyezi, a bitter smile upon her lips.
"I'm just tired, I think." She said finally. "Tired of not having a home, tired of not having a family." Finally, what she had been unsure of all this while was spoken, and her shoulders sagged slightly in relief.

"Some lions are made for the life of a rogue. Content to roam freely, take care of only yourself and maintain few connections," he said thoughtfully, his negative implications of those types of lions unintentional but indicating his own preference for pride life, "Others prefer the structured life within a pride. I personally find it much more attractive, we had to travel some distance not too long ago to find new territory and I can't say I enjoyed us being so divided up."
He paused, smiling and looking around them. He had a great deal of empathy for the poor lioness, by the sounds of it she was more of a pride lion than a rogue. When the pride had moved, the small numbers and the constant change of environment had gotten to him rather quickly.
"Sounds like perhaps you need to take a break from wandering."

"Mmn." She nodded. Perhaps after living as a rogue, she had finally discovered that all along, she had missed the life of a pride.
"I do." She agreed. She doubted she would miss wandering about so much...though she would certainly miss those she had met on the way.

Waridi'eusi was not an easy lioness to read, she wasn't saying very much- explicitly or implicitly. Perhaps it was the fact they were relative strangers to blame, but it was hard to say what exactly she was thinking about all of this. It was somewhat unsettling, not being sure what was going on in a stranger's mind but.. there was no harm in initiating one line of thought.
"Perhaps you might consider staying here," he suggested, "We are quite open to new members, so long as you are willing to accept and follow our religion."

The lioness was already struggling to word her thoughts; it wasn't easy considering her upbringing, when she had been taught to be meek and quiet. It still wasn't easy to come out of the protective shell she had built around herself, but she was trying to wear it down. Trying.
"Maybe." She replied, her eyes sparked with curiosity. "What is this pride like?"

Unyezi had rarely come up against someone so reluctant but interested seeming. He wouldn't just walk away from her because of the reluctance, she was possibly looking for a pride and there was rarely a good reason not to let someone join. Or at least inform them of the pride.
"We are a very close pride in many ways, we are all deeply connected by our beliefs," he said, thinking about the best way to describe the pride when not necessarily asked what it was that they believed, "We all work together for the better of the pride, everybody is taken care of though not everybody is equal in rank." It wasn't a lie, even slaves were watched out for and cruelty (especially towards the slaves) was discouraged.

She listened to his answer, all the while debating, struggling with the thoughts in her head. It sounded nice, indeed, that everyone was treated equally. That was all she asked for in a family.
She was tired of roaming about, she decided, looking up smile at Unyezi. "I would love to stay here, if you would have me."
