I was reading a conversation on another forum board, and the posters got into a discussion about whether Jews, Christians, and Muslims worship the same deity or different ones.
I feel that all three religions worship the same god. God/Allah/Yahweh (that's what Jewish people call Him, right?) are simply different names for the same being. I mean, it all came from the same roots. They all came from Abraham, right?
So what do you guys think? Do all three religions worship the same God, just in different ways, or are they different gods?

Allah = One god
Calling it diffrent, ore same... Is a weird question????
I don't have many argues... I just think that it is diffrent. But a argue, that could go with same is. That Islam support the relegions of the books (Christianity, Islam, and Jewish) example that thing that You can marry the relegions of the books and not the others, if You are male...

Honestly, The people who usually argue that God/Allah/Yahweh aren't the same are as far as I can tell, Usually really conservative and intolerant or just don't have a open mind at all. Even if they aren't, What's the point of lashing out at others about it? If your sure about what you say then keep it to yourself unless asked. But you could go to any Youtube video and see someone saying "ALLAH ISN'T YAHWEH" or "ALLAH IS JESUS" (Even though that would agree with Christianity/Islam more than Judaism) Regardless the case, The similarities are oddly familiar (All three) if you look into both the Bible and Qur'an closely, There are obligations that are also in Islam, Such as Fasting, How to pray (Even Jesus(PBUH) demonstrated it so), Declaring God in his oneness (Mostly from the Hebrew Bible as prayer is commenced), Pilgrimage (Although Jesus(PBUH) had foretold that it would change from the mountains of Jerusalem to a "Far off land"), And giving Alms to the poor. I do have verses from both the gospels/Hebrew Bible that give a good picture of these 5 things, If anyone wants me to cite them anyway.

I don't beleive the God of Christianity is the same as in Islam or Judaism. For one, we consider Jesus as God in flesh. Secondly, based off certain Quranic/Biblical verses, it seems that Allah and God are different than one another.

Secondly, based off certain Quranic/Biblical verses, it seems that Allah and God are different than one another. That'd be the major conflict between the religions. That's something Judaism has in relation with Islam, It does not consider Human to come into flesh as Christians believe Jesus(PBUH) did. Also with the Hebrew bible repeatedly saying in prayer "There is no one Beside me" and "No man born of Flesh is the Lord" Not exact on the quotes, But that's the idea. Islam/Judaism are pretty similar here. But if this were to be so, Doesn't that make Christianity the religion unrelated to both Islam and Judaism? With the concept of the Oneness in God/Allah rather than the Trinity which is not 3 separate Gods but one God united through 3 substances (Father, Son, Holy spirit). Suppose to accept Christianity you have to accept Judaism since Christianity branched off Judaism, And seeing how Judaism clearly denies The trinity (Although they also Deny Jesus'(PBUH) prophethood) makes it even harder to see how they're that similar?

To be honest, I would say Christianity and Islam are closer based off the "Jesus factor" seeing as you think him a prophet, we think him the Messiah and God, and Jews think of him as nothing.
And that "no man born of flesh is the lord" is very interesting~ I haven't heard that before.
And no, you do not have to accept Judaism. When Jesus died on the cross, a new covenant between God and the world was brought into place. One that did not require the sacrifice of animals, special priests to pray for forgiveness of people, and it did not require the extensive laws layed out in Deuteronomy/Leviticus to be observed as they are in Jewish laws.
But they are similar in some ways, I suppose, by the fact that we worship the God the Jews worship, aside from the fact we beleive in Jesus Christ. We read the Old Testament as the Jews read it. Yet we also have the New Testament along the Old.

Islam has been more close to Christianity than Judaism simply on the acceptance of Jesus(PBUH), But Islam has also been in close terms with Judaism by the "Oneness of God" theology. Where nothing can be beside him or associated with him. There have been islamic ideals in both The New Testament (Such as Jesus(PBUH) sermon on the mount) and Old Testament (Such as Moses(PBUH) 40 day fast). But really I need to know how different you mean, Do you mean that Allah (SWT) is unjust and Jesus/YHWH is Just? Or do you mean they just don't match up?

Well, in the Quran it says (I would have to find where specifically) but it says that Allah is above righteousness, whereas in Christianity, God IS righteousness. That is one of the differences.

Well, in the Quran it says (I would have to find where specifically) but it says that Allah is above righteousness, whereas in Christianity, God IS righteousness. That is one of the differences. Your gonna have to get the exact verse and show me, Although I can see why Allah (SWT) would say that. Basically because he is above all the things Humans attribute to him. Like attributes, It shows God as a weakness, Showing him as a weakness leads to believing in more than One God and having God to need help, When God is all powerful and doesn't need assistance or a partner. Here is a quote to make it easier to understand by Imam Ali (A) who gets all these sayings from The Prophet (S) himself: Quote: The foremost in religion is the acknowledgment of Him, the perfection of acknowledging Him is to testify Him, the perfection of testifying Him is to believe in His Oneness, the perfection of believing in His Oneness is to regard Him Pure, and the perfection of His purity is to deny Him attributes, because every attribute is a proof that it is different from that to which it is attributed and everything to which something is attributed is different from the attribute. Thus whoever attaches attributes to God recognizes His like, and who recognizes His like regards Him two; and who regards Him two recognizes parts for Him; and who recognizes parts for Him mistook Him; and who mistook Him pointed at Him; and who pointed at Him admitted limitations for Him; and who admitted limitations for Him numbered Him.

Firstly i believe that there is only one God and that is ALLAH (Allah itself means one God)
And even if for example i say that i belive it that all the gods are one being then it becomes even more complex than now, the question that arises is then who is preaching him the right way? if every body is good at his own religion then then can atheism be termed as religion? then why there is concept of hell and heaven since every body is following the religion and those who are not are atheist and if that too is a religion without god! ugh!! i am lost. END Bold: Actually, Allah (SWT) means "The God" as in "Al-ilah" Combined. As for the other part, Atheism is not a religion, It is the lack of belief in a deity. About the different religions preaching to one God, That's actually been described by Allah (SWT) himself. Paraphrasing the verse: "And if there was another god by me, Wouldn't the creatures be different and the sections of the earth be opposing the other? There would be different universes and creations opposite to each." Another one: "And if there were other gods present, They would but be fighting each other, Praise be to Allah (SWT) Who is above what they accuse of him."

_rainarai_ If I believe in god, would the one I believe in be nothing for you christians? Why do you always have to be right? that "your god, or jesus" is god?Depends how tolerant the Christian is and how strict they are to their religion. I've actually asked this myself, Why is it that Islam is the only religion of the Abrahamic Religions that respects the other two, While Christianity and Judaism simply refuse to take the other religions into consideration? I mean I've seen Jews who simply make fun of Jesus (A), And Christians that make fun of Muhammad (S). Why not just respect and believe what you can believe?
