I heard today on the radio that they are thinking about Dacota Fanning as jane... personally i think that is a horrible idea. i mean she's an ok acress, especially for her age but she is just such a "high maintainence" child that demands pampering. and besides isn't jane and alec supose to be cherub-like in apearence. sad enough she looks like she's on crack. visually she'd need a lot of work and i feel bad for the cast that has to put up with her if they choose to cast her.

I personally don't like the idea of her as Jane .
In my opinion , she doesn't seem "right" for her .
But everyone has their own personal image of each character . And smear the blood across your lips.

I don't have a problem with Dakota as an actress (in fact, I think she's extremely talented), but there are two things that bother me:
1) I think she's a little too old to be Jane.
2) She's a very well-known actress. It can't be cheap for a studio to pay her to be in a movie. My biggest fear with her as Jane is that the pay her agent will demand for her will take away from the already relatively sparse funds for the movie, so that New Moon will suffer in other ways (namely in special effects, which was, in my opinion, one of the hugest weaknesses of Twilight).

i agree with many things in here, one, she is talented i'll admit that. she blows kristen away and she's half her age! but she is a very difficult person to work with and will pry demand quite a large salary. and as for playing Jane, she has the talent to play such an angry but cold character but visually she's too old and too far off. and as for my personal opinon on her, there is just something off with her. she's way too bossy and illtempered for a girl her age. it's not right.

There's something "off" with every person they have casted so far.
Dakota is talented but she, as a person, is high maintenance. I think she would make a good Jane but it really wouldn't matter that much because Jane is just a minor character.
Who else is a better candidate for Jane?

I don't mind Dakota.
She's a good actress and has the talent to pull of a character like Jane, but I don't see her fitting in with the rest of the cast.
She's 14, and I think that might be a little old for Jane, I think Jane should be played by someone around 10.
Plus, like everyone else said, she's high maintenance. She too well known for this movie, I think. I think they shoud go with someone younger and more unknown.

I read alot of the replies to this thread...and I think she is a little high maintenance, but that should never be a reason to say someone isn't good enough. either they are good, or they aren't. i know jane is supposed to be younger, but honestly, how many ten year olds have the acting skills to pull of the character of jane? they can make a 14 year old look younger, and Dakota has the acting skills for sure. i also don't think that people should complain that she is "too well known" for this movie. sorry to break it to you, but the twilight series is way more well known than Dakota Fanning is, and the movies are making their way right up there. We don't even know if Dakota has even auditioned for the part, and people are already bashing her as the character lol.

I have a problem with her. This is nothing against her, but if she's going to be jane, I'm not gonna watch the movie. Because, there's a lot of unknown actors/actress' out there, and if she's in the movie, everyone will be like, "Ooooo, dakota fanning is in the movie" or "Omg, lets go see dakota fanning." or "*looks at Edward & Bella* Omfg, there's dakota fanning!!!"
It's just, it's better that she's not in the movie. She fits the part, but if she's going to be in the movie, everyone will be dakota this dakota that. We want an someone unknown.

I don't have much of a problem with her being well-known. What I have a problem with is what will probably stem from her being well-known: her agent will probably demand an obscenely high salary just for her to be in the movie for about 15 minutes.
If she didn't demand an unreasonable salary and the makeup/special effects people could make her look a little younger, then I would be ecstatic to have her in the movie. Seriously, watch Hide and Seek. She has definitely got the creepy thing down pat.

IMDB Clickkk.It says she is only rumoured but i think that means that she is most likely to play Jane. Although i dont believe she would suit the part. I thought she would be a much darker figure, kinda creepy. Dakota in my opinion is much older, looks much older and also seems taller than what Jane is described as. I could go on and on about why she should or shouldn't play this part. But overall i don't think its such a good idea.

as an actress i think she's great.. but jane is pretty much.. evil and I don't think dakota would look quite right playing a character is evil, it just doesn't quite fit in my mind
