Is the very museum I explored.
It was wonderful.
Nearly all of the weapons I saw, (And you will see) are in working order, and it was overall fun.

I've organized all 80+ of my photos in a photobucket album for your viewing pleasure. I PLANNED to add descriptions to all of them, but got rather lazy so you can ask me anything I suppose if you're curious.

(Also, I didn't get to take pictures of everything, forgot to take more after a while.)

Enjoy.

(P.S. How do you think working in a museum like this would be? I'm in need of a job, and it seems epic.)

You need a degree to do almost anything short of sweeping the floor.

The guy I spoke with who worked there said they could use help conducting tours, and he was quite aware I had no degree of any sort.

I wouldn't mind sweeping the floors of that place anyway, what with the tanks around. It would add an ambiance.

... if I worked there I'd be too tempted.

They might be missing a Panzerschreck or a flamethrower.

The ONLY problem I have with most museums, is that they make everything nonfiring. I don't know if it's permanent or not though. I don't think it is.

I've seen some with just the magazines taken out.

But perhaps they remove the firing pins too.

... IMO;
It depends if they have to listen to the BATFE.

If they have to do what they say, I'm sure the internals are all frozen together and the barrel is filled with concrete or some s**t.

Yeah, destroy history, good job ******** heads.

I also think that all weapons captured from enemy hands should be shipped back to the US, studied, and any that have no historical value, be melted to be used as metal for more guns, or somehow reused.

Looks like oodles of fun.

Here's a link to the museum by me. On some of the vehicles and weapons they let you hold them, but not all.
I have yet to go there, but I want to really bad.
If it's your birthday, and you have your party there, they'll drive you and some friends around in an M113.

Florida.

Holy crap, where exactly?

And why havent i heard of it before? O__o

As I said, I was told that most of the weapons are in working order.
He even mentioned you could still take the C96 Mauser and fire it. They don't obviously do that, and I didn't personally hand inspect and field-strip each weapon to determine if they were butchered, so I'll take his word.

They are also selling a British mobile Artillery piece. I didn't get the make and model, but it was modern with computers and what not.

@Anima: It's in Largo.

Is it just me, or did that "German SMG" look like a Japanese Type 100?
PostPosted: Sun Feb 01, 2009 3:23 pm
It's a German Erma EMP-35, not the Jap gun.

Were you confused by the fact it is a side loader? Playing too much Call of Duty? Heh.

gonk

Noooooooooooo!!!!

Stimulate the economy!
Take the guns from the enemies, check them out and make sure they're safe then ship them back and sell them to the people!
Make Class III licensing less of an elitist deal and throw that $200 tax out the ******** window, no reason why it should be that high.

Hell, if they want to pay so much, they can ship an enemy tank home!

I heard stories about the soldiers blowing up old T-34s that were sold to the Afghanis or the Iraqis, one of the two.
