Haramu sat down in a tuft of grass feeling rather nervous, she had only ever wanted a home, and this place she had stumbled across in her wandering seemed like a lovely place to make it. She felt the earth beneath her claws and smiled letting out a low purr, not sure if she should make any noise, this place wasn't truly her home, as much as she liked it. Slowly she rose and began to walk deeper into the swamps.

His turn again? Why was it his turn again? It wasn't that there was anything wrong about meeting newcomers - or being sent out to meet them - it was mostly just the principle of the thing. Since he was a youngster being told by his mother to do this, it was...well, it was sort of like a chore. And once something was a chore, it automatically turned a little boring.
Still, Maradufu did what he was told, and sat on a log and waited for the latest stranger.

Tripping over some twig or other, Hara found her face planed into the soils of the ground. Muttering about vicious twigs she picked herself up only to find that she was face to face with a brown coloured lion.
She blinked and back up a bit, figuring that this was probably his land. His home. Grimacing she bowed deeply to the stranger. Though she was in fact the stranger in these lands.

...eh? There were some oddly-colored lions in the swamp, but this one was...well, a little exceptional. And, in his opinion anyway, a little bit ugly. He kept it to himself, though, since that was mean - true, but mean. Just because someone was an ugly color didn't mean you should tell them; and besides, they probably already knew.
While the juvenile considered this, the stranger bowed, and he tilted his head. His mother got bowed to all the time, but it was new to him!
"Hey," he said unceremoniously, "I'm Maradu. You?"

Feeling a little bit put off by the lion's greeting, she stuttered her reply, " Uh.. I-I'm kno-own, as. as Haramu Pendu." She grimaced inwardly feeling a bit silly for having stuttered. She was sure someone had told her that first impressions mean everything, and she had certainly not given a very good one. Her mind wandered a bit on who might have told her that, though she was certain it was true and names weren't needed.

"Nice to meet you, Haramu Pendu," he offered, polite in the way that most children were - because someone had told them to be. He wasn't really old enough yet to be polite for any other reason, especially considering he would much rather have been off playing with his siblings or nieces and nephews.
Hopping off the log, he said, "You should follow me, or you'll get lost."

Getting lost wasn't exactly her idea of a good time, though she felt rather odd to have to follow a lion younger then herself, but wasn't about to object to it. Nodding in agreement, Hara stretched herself out, as much as possible, "Alright, thank you." She almost mumbled to herself but managed to speak up just enough to be heard.

The juvenile trotted off towards the center of the swamp, unbothered by any spans of murky water that got in his way - he wasn't afraid of swimming! "So what'd you come for, anyway?"

Hara smiled to herself, she like dthe fact that the younger lion didn't care that there was water. "I came in search of water I suppose. I have a thing for water. I want to live where there is water all the time. Unlike the Savannah, I have to travel to find water." It wasn't that she didn't like the Savannah, she just preferred to be around water.

"That'd be weird," he mused, pausing for a moment to stop and scratch a particularly insistent itch behind his ear. "Everyone says it's really big and dry out there. I don't think I wanna go."

Memories of the Savannah whirled around in her mind, pictures and colours popping up like a slide show. " It's true, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Though I think I've had my fill of the place. As you age you want to settle down, instead of being a wandering rogue for the rest of your life. I'm not sure if you know what I mean... but it's all very plain in my mind."

"Nope!" he confirmed cheerfully, standing up and continuing on now that the pressing matter of itchiness had been addressed. After that, he didn't bother to say anything - just took her into the swamp like he was supposed to. He just wanted this job to be done with so he could get back to more important things!

Following the younger lion Hara was getting more nervous and even a bit anxious, she wasn't really sure where they were going, or when they were going to stop. Even so, she followed him into the swamp.
