[pretty pic here later]
Hakuna stretched at the mouth of her den, smiling as the false dawn semi-lit the eastern horizon. It was good to be in her own den once again. Soon...soon she would contribute new blood to the pride. All was well. She yawned and made her way into the tall grasses. She could not sleep just yet...so perhaps she would see if she could FINALLY track down that pale-furred hunter.
Hakuna had not yet talked with her, and she intended to change that. The large lioness wanted to be sure she knew her pride members.

Haramu was just enjoying the last of the night. She'd finished her hunting, and her forms. This was her time to relax. Jibril had taught her that a little time doing nothing was actually beneficial. It gave the mind and body time to unwind themselves and smooth out the knots. And when Haramu had the time, she followed that advice.
And that was when she caught a half-familiar scent. She blinked and looked about, blue eyes curious. And then she spotted her. The blood-red coat with black and gold markings. Great...Haramu knew full well she'd done nothing wrong, so WHY was the large Tirma'eth coming to bother her? She stood and bowed her head in greeting. Best to stay polite...

Hakuna chuckled and nodded back to the small lioness. "Good evening, Tsafare. You needn't be tense, I've just come to talk." Despite her size, she did not choose to be...as imposing as normal. Oh, she would always be a bit imposing...it happened when one was as large as a Pridelander and had her demeanor. But she was far less so than when she was patrolling the borders.
"I protect this pride...so I try to know those within it, even if it is only their name and rank." She shook her head. "And though I know your rank, I am afraid I have not caught your name, pale one. That...and how such a one as you came to us. For the gleam in your eye says you have never been one of the non-demons."

Haramu let herself untense a bit, curious now. So...she wanted only to 'get to know her'. Well then..."It is Haramu-chanua. And no...I have never been a non-demon, though both my mother and father were." She sometimes wondered about her mother...but the thought faded quickly. "I was raised by a follower of Sparda, and after we parted once I was fully grown, I heard whispers of this place."
She chuckled. "I could not resist following the whispers, for even the most secluded demon feels a pull to their kind."

"Mmmm...very true." Hakuna gave the small lioness something like a kind smile. "There are too few of us yet. We cannot afford to cut ourselves off from our kin." She made a slight bow. "I am Hakuna'jina, the first Tirma'eth of the pride."
She wasn't sure it was necessary to introduce herself...but it WAS polite. And she'd learned the finer points of tact and politeness. "You are lucky to have known of Sparda since cubhood. I learned of him through Verge'lian."

Haramu smiled a bit. "It is...good to meet you, Hakuna'jina." She nodded. "Perhaps. But knowing him from so early was not an easy thing. I grew up learning to fight from someone twice my size, easily." She stretched a bit, back popping. "Jibril prepared me well to be one of Sparda's knights."
She knew, one day, she would work her way up in the pride to hold the rank she was trained for...but for now, she would wait. The pride needed hunters, and she was a patient creature.

"That would explain why the hunt is no chore for you!" The great lioness laughed. "Compared to your teacher, the prey must seem easy." She'd seen Haramu hunt once, from a distance. And the smaller lioness had made it seem easier than it truly was. "What other surprises might you hide in your fur, hm?"
That got her to thinking. "Your patterns actually seem a bit familiar. The color of your markings as well. They're...a different red than that of mine or Iartuupe's coats."

Haramu blinked. "Hmm? I...do not know why my patterns or coloring would be familiar." She wrinkles her nose. "Until I came to this pride, I wandered. And I'm quite sure I have never met you before now." And it was highly doubtful her mother would have ended up here. If she had, Haramu would have seen her. It was rather hard to miss her, after all...especially among this pride.
She gave Hakuna a confused look.

The tirma'eth frowned. Strange...where had she seen such colors and markings...Iartuupe's first spawn within the pride. That little group of cubs born half-way between demon and slave. She snorted. "You have never met me...but I do think you have family within this pride." Hakuna sighed and shook her head. What was her relation to that brood?
"You...might want to see Iartuupe at some point. I do not know the details, since he kept their mother rather well secluded from the rest of us..." She HATED not knowing. Oh how she hated it. And she doubly hated that IARTUUPE had kept her from knowing. "And for the love of Sparda...tread carefully. Morifaer's Aran'shale can be...tempermental."

Family? Within the pride? That idea seemed rather...well, preposterous! Her father had been of worse coloring for the pride than she herself, and her mother...Dear Sparda, her mother couldn't escape from her father's oppressive paw! As much as Haramu hated to admit it...her mother had been a coward. Her brother couldn't have shown up, with his fur being yellow and BLUE. That and he was his father's son.
Had her mother birthed another litter and one of them escaped to here? "I...I shall ask and be cautious." She shook her head. "I...I do not know how I could have family within here, Hakuna'jina."

"I am not sure either...that is why you must ask and observe." Hakuna wondered why such a thing surprised the younger lioness. After all, lions wandered. Certainly she had a member of her family that had wandered just as she had.

Haramu nodded. "Thank you...for pointing this out, ma'am." Well...she certainly knew where her next destination was. Now it was just a matter of did she wait until tomorrow...or did she confront him today? He was likely to be gruff or tired now, since night was nearing its end...

Hakuna kept from chuckling. "Wait until moonrise, Haramu-chanua. Best to catch him when he's alert." She yawned and stretched. "I shall leave you for now. I had a long patrol, and the cool floor of my den sounds all too inviting." The older lioness stood and gave a departing nod to Haramu. "I hope you find answers. None of us like to be clueless."

Haramu stood as well, giving a slight bow to the bigger lioness. "I hope so too. And thank you...for your advice." Perhaps the tirma'eth wasn't as bad as she looked...Haramu rather liked her. With a yawn, the pale demoness made way for her own den. Sleep would do her well now...
