Succubus and Incubus. Interesting topic... Somehow they seem to originate from Europe... An incubus (plural incubi) is a demon in male form supposed to lie upon women, in order to have sex with them, according to a number of mythological and legendary traditions. Its female counterpart is the succubus. An incubus may pursue sexual relations with a woman in order to father a child, as in the legend of Merlin. They say that he was fathered by an incubus. A Succubus (plural succubi) is a demon who takes the form of a highly attractive woman to seduce men, in dreams to have sex. According to the Malleus Maleficarum, or "Witches' Hammer", written by Heinrich Kramer (Insitoris) in 1486, a succubus would collect semen from the men she slept with, which incubi would then use to impregnate women, thus explaining how demons could apparently sire children in spite of the traditional belief that demons were incapable of reproduction through generative or gestative means. Children so begotten were supposed to be those that were born deformed, or more susceptible to supernatural influences.
So as a summary; The Succubus and the Incubus are basically Male/Female demons who take their forms to seduce people in their sleep to have sex. A common theory is that after sleeping with an Incubus/Succubus, the poor person would die of exhaustion or completely drained of their spirit.
