What is everyone's opinions of the PA-63 and the 9x18mm Makarov cartridge? Handling it, it fits and balances well for both me and mom. The single-action trigger pull is well, but DA-is HUGELY HEAVY, because the trigger group is still full of cosmo, which I'll comment further on after I get it cleaned and can try it correctly.

9x18 is a decent round, not something i'd try to win competitions with. But its fairly accurate, and with the right ammo (i recommend Hornedy 95gr XTP) its a capable self defense round.

In a prefect world i'd pick a different cartridge. But its a capable round.

The trigger pull is just something your going to have to get used to. My makarov is like that too. But i've learned to deal with it.

Well, I also have .45ACP and 7.62TOK available as needed. I don't need to worry about wanting a different caliber.

It's apparent that you've never used the Double action function on a Nagant revolver.
Firing from a rested trigger it's been reported to be either a 30 or 50 pound pull.

Cocked it's reportedly 6 lbs, some places say 13.
:/
Mine doesn't feel like it's that much.

********, I'd try the Nagant first. Watching it used at the range, it ain't that bad. But until this is COMPLETELY cleaned out (not until I get a 5-gallon bucket of Simple Green or brake parts cleaner), I'd put it up against the Nagant for a*****e of a trigger pull.

I can't do ANYTHING until I get the damn grips off.

And I already broke a ******** screwdriver doing that.
THE BIT, not the actual handle. It snapped the head in half.

HOW THE ******** DO YOU TIGHTEN IT THAT MUCH!?

Butterknife got it.

THere's ******** BLOOD or something under the grips. And CLP isn't getting it off. THe butterknife is, though. This gives me better leverage to spray it out, and maybe soak it (easier to dry out)

Okay, this is ridiculous.
The RECOIL spring is 11 pounds, factory.
And HAMMER spring is 16 pounds, factory.
Even the EXTRA ENHANCED recoil spring is only 15 pounds.
Well, I'm replacing both springs when I get the chance.

Might be ketchup, knowing this gunshop. Too dark, though.

Finally got the damn grips off and everything cleaned out. I had to use a damn scotch-brite pad, though. Next up, soaking it in VERY hot water when I get the chance.

Ah cool!

Speaking of odd grease/oil;
The cleaning kit for my SKS smells weird and very strong, pungent is another word.
When I asked my father to smell it he said it smells like marijuana.
eek

I took the butt plate off and sure enough, the stock and inside has that same heavy smell.

I'd much rather my rifle have that fresh rifle or cosmoline smell than this crap.

I wonder if there's an airfreshener that smells like cosmoline.
eek
A million dollar idea! It'll go over HUGE with the Milsurp fans!
Omfg...
Patent pending...
