I like everything really. I'm not a huge country fan, but some of it is pretty good. I guess my favorites would be heavy metal (old Metallica, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Pantera, Dope, Rammstein) and hard rock (Aerosmith). I also like some goth music, some rap. Well, like I said, just about everything.

My only real gripe is RAP MUST DIE!
Other than that, I'm pretty much fine

I'm mostly into old school metal. Back when you could still understand what the lyrics were. I mean what is the point to listening to a monotonic roar and some dude screaming in the background?

The sort of bands I like are:

Iron Maiden (I mod on one of the Iron Maiden Guilds around here)
Judas Priest
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Jethro Tull
ACDC
Kiss
Giants of Science

Those sorts of bands. Basically anything with that old school feel, where there is the metal atmosphere, but it is still music.

See, I mainly lissen to Country or Classic Country, but I like older Rock music. Some of my favorite artists

Country: Conway Twitty, George Jones, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Trace Adkins, and mostly older singers of country.

Rock: ZZ top, the Eagles, Elvis, Guns and Roses, and Rick Derringer.

I despise rap from the deepest part of my soul. It's just a jackass paying someone to come up with background music while he spouts vulgarities. mad

Now, to what I do like, I like rock, ranging from lax to metal. I'm a fan of a couple little-known bands such as King Crimson, Crux Shadow, and Blind Guardian.

I also have a special place in my heart for classical, my favorite being Mozarts Requiem.

I'm going to have to dissagree with a number of opinions here. I don't hate rap, I don't even particularly dislike it. I only dislike how it has been mutilated. I know several local rap artists. Simply because I work with them. These guys are old style rappers.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that new age rap, is simply just an image. A front if you will, to a false persona. They wear stupid clothes, their literacy is sub-standard and they have a bad attitude. As wel as the arguments that have previously been stated.

Old school rappers, don't do any of that. They are normal people, they dress normally. Hell some of them, the best of them, have a flair for language that vastly outshines me. Rap isn't about slang, gangsta-speak and viulgarities. Rap is about lyrics that are somewhere between rhyme and song, but closer to a rhyme.

If that makes sense.

You hit the nail on the head about rap music's definition and origin, but that's not how it is today. And that's why I don't like Rap. Now all Rap is about is greed, gangs, drugs, and viulgarities. Back then, Rap music was something I wouldn't mind listening to, but with these yahoos, rap sucks. I don't like, and if there is some people who don't try to become famous by repeating these nimrods, then I respect that. Honestly, today's Rap artist don't sing, they just swear to a beat that not that good. On a side note, doesn't anyone notice how music in some genres have been repeats of top artists of that genre.

It makes sense, but that style of artist is maybe one out of a hundred rappers, and aren't the popular ones. What really gets me is the people that get the WRONG idea from it, and start running around in public thinking that they are cool because they can run around being as illiterate as hell imitating the rappers. The other thing that gets me is that almost all rappers don't even make their own background music, they pay someone else to.

Rap was cool back in the day. Back when it was MC Hammer, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, and Vanilla Ice. Those guys were the best of the best. I don't like rap nowadays except for Eminem, Fifty Cent and Nellie.

No offense, but Fifty Cent is a moron. Oh I got shot at 9x make me a rapper. stare I know a guy whose cousin got shot at like 11 times and he didn't get to be some big shot rapper. You know DE that that bothers too, and the fact that you got people in this country are trying to something they are not. If you're a pure honky you're pure honky(I can say that because I'm white biggrin ), and if of another color then you're of another color. Also, speaking of Halloween I wonder how many of these ******** are gonna dress up in their street clothes and say, "I'mma hardcore rappa give some candy." God, what did we do to deserve this?
