The dark of the moon. That desolate time of the month where not even the outline of the moon could be seen. And Sira's favorite time of the month. He could look to the sky without squinting at the light of the moon, and find all the star-patterns in the sky. The Mother Lion and her Cub. The Baboon. The Demon-king. That one was hard to find...but worth the look. Despite its difficulty to find, Sira had always found it.
He believed it a sign that his demon was nearly awake. That it was almost time for him to take his Name Quest. That thought made the quiet demon-lion smile. He was looking forward to that test...that ritual that would make him an adult in the eyes of the pride.
Haramu felt her belly growing every passing night. She knew well what was happening, and she looked forward to when the cubs would be born. But there was still a good while until then. For now, she still hunted...she just made sure to be careful of her belly. She had a bit until it was time for her to start hunting, however, and she'd done her stances already.
So Haramu started out for a spot where the grasses thinned before giving way to the wasteland part of the pride. And blinked as she saw someone in her path. Another demon, it looked like. "Good evening."
Sira blinked and turned his gaze to the lioness who addressed him. He'd not been as alert as usual, for her to sneak up on him. "Mmm...Good evening." She wasn't a slave. She walked the wrong way, held herself as proud as any other pride member. "I don't believe we've met, pale one."
Was she a demon, with her strangely pale coloring? She moved almost like he did, sure and steady, with a killing grace.
Certain, now, that the other would not strike at her, Haramu trotted over to sit beside him. It seemed he'd been stargazing before she'd run across him. "I am Haramu-chanua, a Tsafare of the pride." She chuckled and looked to him. "Now I believe I am in need of an introduction, oh dark one."

"I am Mori'earsira. It is a pleasure to meet you, Tsafare Haramu-chanua." Though by the way she moved, she was likely a hunter because of her fur color. She moved like he did. "What brings you out here this night?"
A good name...much better for a demon than her own. "Ah...I came to relax before I begin my hunting duties. And this area is perfect to do so in." Her tail swished lazily behind her. "What about you?" He wasn't quite full grown, so he'd not yet gone through his name quest...but he was certainly training hard for whatever place he wanted in the pride. His pelt was littered with scars.
Sira chuckled, a sound as monotonous as his voice tended to be. "I like to stargaze at this time...the lack of moonlight means one can see the stars the moon's light often blocks." He pointed to a star-pattern that was right next to where the moon tended to be at that time of night. "Like the Hidden Bird. She seems to vanish when the moon's light comes near her."
Haramu started a bit. A stargazer among the demons? It was nice, to find someone who did the same thing Jibril did when there was time. "Mmm...that is true. I don't think I've seen that star-pattern before at this time of night. I always through it just...vanished." When Jibril finally found her way here, like Haramu was certain she'd do, Haramu would have to ask her if she'd ever gone gazing on a moonless night.

"In a way it does. And yet it does not." Sira wondered why he'd not met this female before. Of all those he'd met...this Haramu caught his interest. "Who taught you to fight?" The thought made him curious. Had she learned from someone as small as her?
Haramu blinked and smiled broadly. "Jibril. She is as large as the creatures called Firekin, and a brilliant fighter. She raised me to the ways of Sparda." Despite Haramu's thankfulness to her birth-mother...Jibril was the one Haramu most considered her mother. Despite the fact most of Haramu's scars were from training with her.
Sira blinked. "As large as a Firekin? And...you learned to fight from her?" He couldn't help but stare wide-eyed. Haramu was...small! "And she didn't break you?"
The pale demon blinked and laughed. "No, no. She taught me how to fight an opponent bigger than me. How to use my size and maneuverability to my advantage." She settled down, a calm smile back on her face. "Jibril was amazing. And I know that she'll one day find her way here. She was the one who recognized the light of a demon in my eyes."

If she was such a great fighter...than why was Haramu simply a hunter? Ah...her coat. Her coat was the wrong color...the yellow too pale and cool. But nonetheless...perhaps he'd found a sparring partner. It would be useful to learn to fight someone smaller than you, but just as skilled...more skilled actually. Haramu was older than him, full grown while he still only had half a mane. "She must have been something for you to speak of her as such. She...was a mother to you?"
"That she was." Haramu sighed. "My birth mother was...not in the best position to raise me. So when Jibril came, my birth mother gave me to Jibril. And Jibril never once mistreated me, or considered me a slave. Before I could learn to fight, she treated me...as someone to protect." She stood and stretched. "She was a true follower of Sparda. And to serve under an Aran'shale who is a son of Sparda...I think this place was my home far before I was even born..."
Sira stood with her, only shaking himself a bit to dislodge the grass seeds that had gotten into his fur. "My mother is a Qatethe. She is...a strange demon, but she is still my mother. And a strong member of the pride. I have a great deal of respect for her." But no love. Sira wasn't sure if he even loved his father, the lion he so admired. "Would you mind if I accompanied you on this hunt?"
So his mother was a pride member...what of his father? There were some markings on him that were familiar...perhaps she would pinpoint them later. Haramu blinked and nodded. "I would not mind at all. The help...would be most appreciated." She chuckled. "Many mouths to feed, so little time to do it in. Especially with all the little ones about." Finished with her stretching, she started off.
