I'm sick of the no help

Apparently, my computer won't read Sims2, but the expansion pack Seasons. I've installed and uninstalled both games before without fuss now it's shiite. My computer will think about running Sims2 then quit. While Seasons will go through without fuss. Do I just need to buy a new game?

So, your saying that when you put your sims 2 disk in, it will start up, then quit? But when you put in seasons, it will play?
Is seasons your latest expension pack, and how many do you have?
