[Duel] Cat Fight? (Iirte Aasa VS Lakeisha)

She'd been called out to duel - not that she was going to complain. Certainly being a huntress all the time had put some of her poor muscles out of commission (she needed to work on fixing that one), but there was nothing wrong with taking some time to spar.

A few of these and perhaps that same rage that had gotten her through the desert as a youth would start channeling itself properly.

However, she had other priorities to aim for first: Like making sure the outsider didn't ruin her chances of getting in by causing too severe of injury to her opponent in the duel - and maintaining the pride of only having the scars over her one eye.

Sinking her paws into the sand, Lake calmly braced herself for the impact of the incoming blow, not hissing and bristling as she would have if she'd been under attack - the idea of having a lion lunge at her and NOT actually be aiming to maim her horribly was actually an awkward one.

Ha ha.

Lake was actually rather surprised by how 'light' the blow had been, having been expecting worse, but following along with the almost 'play' fight well enough anyways.

However, the dodge of the next attack went rather.. downhill for the female, quite literally. A blind bound out of the way had found her both crashing onto her paws awkwardly but also tumbling down onto one side. dsfkjadkl.

Crap, that had probably been the most hilarious 'fail' she'd made in a while, rolling right out of it though and standing herself up so that she once again was facing her dueling partner. Rrrrgh. Okay, she'd just have to make sure to make a better 'counter' attack the next go around.

Now the other female was watching her....

and she was watching right back, slowly pacing side to side while watching. Hmmm. It seemed that both of them were waiting... for something? Something yes. However, Lake wouldn't keep them both waiting on this one. Once she was sure that her feet were settled again, checked with a careful shifting in the sand, it was her turn to strike out.

Though naturally, calmer than she could have been about it.

There was no need to harm the other lioness (make contact with, yes, but not a lasting mark).

And contact it did indeed make! Though Lakeisha did feel a slight stinging at her pride as said swat caused her to lose her footing in turn.

She was not a happy lioness -- she'd have to take a few deep breaths and not follow up this meeting with a beatdown on some more other hopeful-rogue in-joining. Alas, she had to instead take her distance to pace again -- no, she wasn't going to risk making a move that would throw the duel too quickly.

Though she was pleased by the potential of the female she was in battle with.

This lioness was wise -- she certainly knew how to keep her distance. Lakeisha was definitely of the approving type for such knowledge. Fighting for the sake of throwing oneself into the battle wasn't her style -- seeing her challenger use her brain was definitely pleasing.

Not that either were in danger of the other by any means.

Lakeisha made the last move, practically leaping upon the other lioness with one paw outstretched--!

And batting her challenger lightly, as though in play.

"You pass." Lakeisha said, holding her head up proudly to the rogue she'd just (by her own standards) deemed worthy to enter the pride. "Enter our lands proudly and learn our ways well -- I think you'll go far."
