I watched your video of Mad World. I won't pretend to know anything about playing guitar, but it does seem a little too simple. I do, however, know quite a bit about singing. I would suggest doing a few excerisizes breathing from your diaphragm and try to put a bit of power behind your voice. By the sound of your voice, you're not breathing correctly and you're hesitating to put all of your power into it.
