So I had an item up for the same price as most everyone else.

The next thing I know I have a profile comment asking for it at half the price.

What? Do people often change the price that much?

The item sold n any case, but I thought that was strange.

nah just people hoping you'd miraculously feel sorry for them and sell it to them for half price. I guess to them it's worth a try.

That's just normal begging. I've actually had people ask me to just give them an item I have up for sale because [insert sob story here] ... I've heard these stories a hundred times.

I just delete the PM and watch the market prices. If a bunch of people undersell me, I sometimes change the price, but market prices fluctuate so much on some things it's best to just leave it be.

I've only ever had that once luckily.
I had someone asking me to increase the price on an item though.
I think he was trying to artificially inflate it

Wouldn't it be easier for him to have bought the item and then raise the price himself?

It would if he had the gold to do it, but I can imagine it would be hard to AI really expensive items by yourself unless you're insanely rich.

It's also lower risk if you can get the other people to just increase their price rather than buying it yourself. If you buy out all the lowest priced ones, AI the item, then no one buys, you can lose a lot of gold confused

or maybe he was trying to get his own item to sell so if people see others have their item for higher they would buy his.

That's a possibility too. Trying to keep his the lowest one on the MP for quicker sale.

Some marketers are crazy confused

User ImageI actually had to put a notice in my store saying not to ask me to change my prices because I used to get so many beggars. I still get the occasional one who refuses to read, but they've gone way down in numbers since I added it.User Image
