The day was at its peek, and the rolling of the lake water could be heard throughout her lands. Wei stood, solemn in appearance, waiting at the edge of the pathway to the 'other pride.' She had been there before, and hoped she would see the strange creature she had met last time, inviting her to come in without need to wander.
But alas, he wasn't in sight, and if she wished to fufill her goal for the day of becoming more familiar with the pride next to the one her mother founded, Wei would have to wander amongst the other pride.
One paw at a time, she started down the sandy path, headed towards anything at all. When she had finally reached the other side, she hesitated, only briefly, assessing her surroundings.

Mawi Mai was seemingly always out and about. Her paws padding along the pride, creating a beat as she walked, she always enjoyed the time that she got to wander amongst the pride. She loved her cubs, oh she loved them a lot she also loved her mate more than anything, however she didn't mind taking her time to wander away for a bit and do her job, the job that she always wanted to do for a long time, she had her mother's ranking and she was so proud that she did.
She licked her lips as she continued her trot she wasn't going anywhere in particular. She was just going, she liked it whens he didn't have to go some where. She smiled softly as she shifted her head softly letting her drum fall down her neck some. Then she looked up, noticing a brown figure wandering the pride. She knew everyone in the pride, if they knew her or not, she knew all of the faces. But this lioness caught her attention. She didn't remember her? It must have been one from the other pride... She didn't know that many of them.
She grinned as she moved closer to the lioness her face friendly and calm. "Hello there!" She chuckled softly looking at the younger lioness with a smile still on her face.

Wei hadn't noticed the other lioness until she said something. Her main colorings made it hard for Wei to spot, although her red should have been easy to see.
"Oh. H-hello." she lifted one of her front paws anxiously. She had become rather timid during first meetings, always unsure of the other lion. It was something that had just embedded itself within her, being the darkest and shyest of all her littermates. She was often sitting alone by the water's edge because of her hesitation.
"I was just.....out, trying to explore the area a bit more." she flicked the tuft of fur from her eyes, nervously finding something to say. The last thing she wanted was to be told she was doing something wrong, so she felt for words and an explanation as to why she was there in the first place.

Mawi looked at the lioness just a little surprised, for some reason she felt bad for the lioness. Mawi shrugged it off before smiled chuckling softly. She sat up before grinning at her. "Ah! You come from the other pride, don't you?" She grinned before flicking her hair out of her eyes. "Welcome in that case!" She chuckled some as she grinned at her. "I love to see new faces around here." He chuckled nodding at her before smling softly.
"Would you like for me to show you anything?" She asked looking around thinking about what she could show the younger lioness. "Well I forgot my manners! My name is Mawi Mai. May I ask your's?" She asked chuckling softly she was hoping that she wasn't acting overly friendly, something told her she was, but couldn't hurt could it?

Wei felt relieved that she wasn't in trouble for anything. It had always frightened her a bit when someone approached her so quickly.
"M-my name is Wei." she quickly regained her confidence, her green eyes glimmering kindly. She tried her best to reach out and be more sociable, like the lioness that had approached her; though, she could probably never be so forthcoming.
"The...." her eyes dropped, moving back and forth as she thought of the place she loved the last time she was here, when that male showed her around. "The black shore." her eyes lifted, staring straight into the lioness' eyes. "Is there such a place here?" she vividly remembered the feeling of her breath being taken away at the mere sight of the shore, feeling most comfortable there while in this new pride.

Mawi Mai looked at the younger lioness and a smile grew on her face. She chuckled softly before grinning softly. "Wei! Thats a beautiful name." She flashed a grin for a moment as she nodded to the lioness. She watched the lioness, she noticed the small amount of confidence growing in her. Then again that could have just been Mawi being optimistic about the idea.
She blinked for a moment. The black shore, of course she knew about it! She waited for the lioness to continue talking. Her smile grew more as she looked at the lioness, she stood up quickly and pretty much danced around the lioness until she was on her side. "Of course there is a place here!" She grinned before she nudged the other lioness gently. "Come, Come, its not that far away." With that she started her trot cheerfully heading toward the shore.

"Oh?" Wei felt relieved that this lioness knew the shores. While she was positive they were here, she hadn't the slightest idea of what they were called in their native pride.
Her feet moved, slowly and hesitant at first, after the lioness. She didn't know what she'd do once she reached the shores, or what she'd talk to the lioness about on the way there, but the hospitality made her swell with happiness.
"Are you sure this is alright? I mean, I wouldn't want to impose...." her words drifted off as the scent of water filled her nostrils. At this point, even if she was imposing, she didn't care. She just wanted to see the shore.

Mawi Mai grinned at the lioness and nodded. "Mhmm." She started to trot toward where the younger lioness was asking to go. the shores she hadn't wandered that way in a while. She licked her lips as she looked up, even if Wei didn't stay that long she would probably wander around in and near the water and cool off some. It was really hot out it would really be worth it.
The lioness turned toward Wei and smiled shaking her head slightly. "You're not imposing. Its no problem at all really." She chuckled softly then looked forward once more. Sniffing the air herself and thinking. "I've been wanting to head that way anyway. I've been so busy." She chuckled softly looking at the lioness with a smile before looking toward. "We're almost there."

"Busy?" Wei trotted at a steady pace behind Mawi Mai, never hearing about lions being 'busy.' She, herself, was never busy, and she never really saw anyone that was busy running around the pride. Well, if they're really busy, then she wouldn't see them, she supposed.
"You know, every time I come here, everything seems so new and unfamiliar." her head turned back and forth, searching for a familiar face. "I guess there are just more lions in this pride." Her own pride, in comparison, seemed rather small to the one she frequented; everyone there knew each other, and while it was still possible for that here, the numbers were just overwhelming.

Mawi Mai chuckled softly before nodding a bit. "Yep. Hunting for a family taking care of four cub, entertaining and spending time with a mate, and of course taking care of the other cubs in the pride and their drum quests." She grinned back at the lioness. "I feel like I'm alway doing something but it doesn't bother me. I'm still young I have the energy." She got closer to the water she smiled. She could smell it in the air.
"Ah! We do have some cubs running around but I don't think we have anymore than you do." She chuckled softly then smiled at her once more. Thens he could spot it. "Ah." she grinned as she got closer to the shore that she knew all to well when she was younger. "It hasn't changed much since I was a cub." she chuckled softly looking at the younger lioness.

"A drum quest?" Wei recognized the phrase; Kani had mentioned it when they met. She didn't read into it at that point, but now that she was a bit older, it intrigued her.
Moving her eyes forward, the glimmering water reflected in her green eyes. "Nor since I was here last." she inhaled deeply, taking in all of the scents and feelings that it gave her. The shore in her own pride was muddier, and more of just a slope. She often sat by it when none of the other cubs would play with her.

Mawi Mai looked at the other lioness with a grin as she nodded. "Yep! A Drum Quest!" she chuckled softly before sitting back on her haunches and looking at the water. "Its... when you make your drum, I teach them how to make it then the cubs go off and find their Rhythm and come back and apprentice under some one. Its a major part of our pride. She grinned at her once more before he eyes trailed back to the water.
"Many others from out of the pride would disagree that the shore was beautiful but I think they are crazy." She laughed slightly then flicked her hair out of her eyes. "I always thought it was beautiful." she chuckled softly with a bigger smile.

"Find their rhythm?" Though Wei's blank stares off into the water made it appear that she wasn't listening, she really was focused on everything Mawi Mai said. "So they're finding themselves?" Because her pride wasn't based around such a thing, it seemed hard for her to totally wrap her head around it in the same terms this pride would use. It made sense, though.
"I don't see why anyone would think this place is anything but beautiful." Sure, the shores were black, but it only added to its splendor.

Mawi Mai nodded as she also stared at the water, her ears flickering as she kept an idea of what was going on around her. Wanting to make sure that nothing was going to sneak up behind her, normally she wouldn't expect it however, she wanted to see if any of her cubs decided to sneak up on her. "I guess you can say that." She laughed softly and nodded to her. "Yeah... They pretty much are finding themselves.
She then looked at her again and flicked her tail around a few times. "Ah but some of them disagrees, I think you truly belong here if you think it is beautiful." She flashed the other lioness a grin. "You know I've really have never been to far into your pride." She chuckled softly at the idea before looking forward again.

"Ah, I see." Wei knew of others who had gone on journeys of similar natures. It seemed natural, at a certain time in one's life, to want to straighten out and make sense of everything.
"I....." she inhaled deeply. "..adore my pride so much. Even though it's not as flashy as some other prides I've heard stories of." her eyes were calm and happy just thinking about it. "It's really a wonderful place. I think that everyone in these two allied prides should explore the other pride. It instills a certain.....love of one's own pride, as well as finding something amazing about the other." she looked over to Mawi Mai. "Like this place."
