Game Crashing Issues?

My sims 3 does work for about.. 15-20 minutes (so I don't think it's an overheating issue), then it'll lag a bit and eventually crash. Then I'll get a bubble in the corner saying "display driver stopped responding and has crashed". I also know I'm not the only person who has this problem... Does anybody else here have this issue?

And I just got sims 3 a couple days ago, and it says it's updated (ie: has the patch) and everything. Is this a sims issue or a computer issue?

Oh, and I don't always get the display driver message.

I dunno if any of this will help, but:

I have a gateway GT5408 with core 2 processor at 1.8 Hz.. 2 GB in RAM.. and I have a 32 bit system.

Also, I went to the Intel website to update my graphics driver and it says I can't because I have a customized computer manufacturer driver. Sigh.


edit: I think I just need a new processor and maybe a new video card. Maybe.

It's a computer issue. :/

I got the sims 3 RIGHT when it came out, was SOOO excited!
I played it for about 20 minutes(lag was horrrible) I had fully made my character and entered my house, then BAM!
My computer started saying that driver crap and it crashed.
I lost EVERYTHING.
I had no external harddrive.
I lost all of my itunes...... emo emo
It still makes me upset to talk about it..

But, I got a new computer and it works PERFECT! biggrin
My computer and the sims 3 are both awesome!

This computer really wasn't that expensive eiither. So, I'm very happy with it.
