Spaki didn't really like these days. At all.

The usual problem with desert life was the sun. But today, another rather common problem was bothering the male. Wind. Mixed with sand. No, not that great. It won't strong enough to be a full blown sandstorm, really. Just any-other-place windy. Wind tossing your mane around, and all that. However, being in the desert, meant the wind also blew around a lot of sand. lot. Endless. And annoying.

He flicked his ears in irritation, squinting and turning his back to the wind. His mane got in his face now, but he supposed it was better than sand in his eyes. Finally deciding he'd had enough of this damn wind, Spaki picked up his pace, heading for the nearest oasis. Needless to say, he was relieved when it came into sight, and happily hurried over, ducking behind the first shelter he found. A couple of trees, and some rocks. And a cactus. He scowled, it wasn't in a very.. convenient spot. Right in the middle of the tiny shelter. Being prickly, keeping him from getting comfortable. Damn you, cactus.

It was then that Moto'Spaki decided he would be doing everyone a favor by getting rid of said cactus, flopped on his belly next to it, unseathed his claws, and began to poke around its thorns, taking more time cutting it up than necessary because he figured he'd be here a while. and he'd get bored.

Niwasha'Hewa wasn't much of a fan of getting sand in her eyes, either, but insisted upon being stubborn and ignoring it. Just because you were bothered something didn't mean you had to show it; in fact, she was quite against showing such weaknesses, even when she was alone, or seemed to be. You never knew, after all.

And as it happened, it was just as well she was cautious, as the oasis she approached already had a visitor. Who was...disassembling a cactus? "If you needed water," she remarked dryly, "There's some right over there."

Claw, claw claw. Claaaw. Ohcrap, someone's talking.

The lion didn't expect to hear a voice over the whooshing wind, so concentrated in his brutal murder of a cactus, so when Niwasha'Hewa seemed to materialize out of nowhere, he twitched. Not too visibly, really, but just enough to get a few thorns in his paw. And he'd almost complain about that, but managed enough control to only flinch.

Really, Spaki. Firekin warrior, and you flinch over a few thorns in your paw? Tsktsk.

He scowled, folding his ears back and glancing at the female. All your fault, lady. "Didn't need water. Just getting rid of it. " Didn't really feel like explaining that it was in an inconvenient spot inside his wind-shelter. Also didn't want to pick at the thorns now lodged between his paw pads in front of this female, even though they did hurt.

Who was this lioness, anyway? Hmph, didn't remember her from the split... maybe she'd come over more recently. Looked firekin born, though. Not like those 'new' rogue-born, but maybe it was just getting harder to tell the difference.

"I didn't realize we'd declared war on plantlife." How silly, trying to 'cut down' a cactus. It was practically begging to get thorns in your paw, and for what? Relieving boredom? There were far better ways to do that. But, as she was a bit bored herself, Niwasha'Hewa flopped down opposite the male and studied him right back.

He looked like real Firekin, too. How delightful. And so she offered, "I'm Niwasha'Hewa."
