Aah, lovely day. And by lovely, one means sort-of-cloudy, cool temperature and very, very quiet. You know, maybe Mapa's sense of lovely is screwed up, many might call the day a little gloomy, actually. But, the dark lion is more than happy to patrol on this mild, uneventful day. Enjoying the silence, and for once, nothing on his mind! now that is truly a good day.

"Hey, Mapa! "

Of course. "Yes, Hisa? " Well, he supposed it wasn't bad. This was Hisa, and Mapatano often felt he owed her so much. Even if she could be.... annoyingly chatty sometime. The kite happily glided down, perching on his shoulders, ruffling her feathers briefly. "Nothing, really. Just back from rounds. Couldn't find Tanzania, but found his sister. " He nodded. Finding Tanz, typically impossible, but he saw the blue cub often enough to not worry. Honestly, what bothered him msot that he'd actually started to worry about the two cubs he'd found. Honestly, he should have just... dumped them on a nanny, or something, because they were making him soft.

"Anything else? " Hisa pondered a bit. "I think I saw someone nearby. But I forget who. " Pfft. Hisa was getting old, the way she was forgetting things. And he quietly envied her.

Ajili let out a loud yawn, shaking it off with a whip of her tail and a smile. Cloudy days always made the lioness sleepy. But, as with most things, Ajili remained the optimist. She never disliked the weather or complained about it. If it made her tired, she never minded. She'd merely continue on with her day as usual, while being a little groggy.

Dhani, on the other hand, was passed out on the lioness's back.

The avian and the lioness had several things in common, one thing being that different types of weather affected their moods the same way. But though the vulture was sleeping because of the gloomy day, she slept most days anyway; a nocturnal habit she was trying to break, with Ajili's help. But Ajili's help came mostly accidentally, simply because the lammergeier tagged along everywhere her bonded went. Like right now.

"OH!" the lioness suddenly cried. Dhani jerked awake, head spinning left and right. "Mapatano!" Ajili called, smiling ear-to-floppy-ear. She pointed her paws towards the black, gruff shape in the distance and made her way towards him, completely oblivious to the fact that he may have wanted some "alone time".

His ear flicked lazily in the direction of sound, a sound that sounded conspicuously like his name. Hmm.. familiar voice too.

... Oh, god no.

Mapatano almost immediately stiffened once he realized who it was, turning slowly, almost dramatically to face the approaching blue-and-yellow lioness. Ohcrap. Her. He was just cursing whomever had decided to let her be around just as he was on patrol. But a whack from Hisa reminded him to at least be semi-polide, so he forced his shoulder to relax. Somewhat. But no smile, because, honestly, no one gets smiles from Mapa.

Perhaps it wasn't so bad. He hadn't seen the female in a while, and she'd been nice enough. But... Mapa never did so well with the nice-motherly type. Actually, that was a lie. He had, once... but that was a long time ago.

"Yes, Ajili? "

Being rather stocky, it took a little longer than normal for the lioness to reach the male. It made one wonder why she was a huntress at all, but she didn't need long legs to be a huntress. She just needed strategy and strength. Besides, lions weren't built for speed to begin with. If they were, they'd be cheetahs.

At least, that was Ajili's reasoning.

Finally standing before the male, Ajili smiled up at him, ears turned back.

"How are y--Oh, dear!" she started, cutting off her words to replace them with others. Yellow eyes widened as she stared the male up and down, tilting her head around his left side, then his right, observing him.

"Have you been eating?" she asked suspiciously, giving him an inquisitive look. Her expression was reminiscent of "don't-lie-to-me-cuz-I-am-your-mama."

Dhani snored loudly in the background.
