Fae opened a single eye as her sister shifted and moved towards the den. Naji was many things, but stealthy was not one of them. Faeqa took great pains in covering an amused smile with a frown. "Najiyya, where are you going?" Oh, uh, the full name. She only really used Najiyya's full name when she was in trouble. It was a good system to have, however, because she didn't even need to make the effort to sound angry.
All she need do was speak the name.
Her other eye opened followed by the lifting of her head, a brow arched as her sister threw a glance back at her.
"Well?" She asked, impatient.
Her ears fell about her face and the innocent grin faltered a little. Dammit, why could she never get anything past her sister? She ought to practise with her sneaking skills, but it didn't seem to matter. She could be as silent as a butterfly and still get caught!
"Well..." Her eyes darted nervously. "I was going to go and see the babies." It seemed Naji had been quite taken with the little ones and had been eager to help out in anyway she could.
Faeqa shook her head and smiled. "I don't mean to ruin your enthusiasm, love, but at this early hour, Tuliua will probably be sleeping and so will the little ones. Don't bother her for a while yet, okay?" The ginger lioness rose and pushed past her sister to emerge in the early morning light.
Najiyya pushed up past her. "I'm sure Tuli wouldn't mind." But at her sister's glare, changed tactic. "But you're right, I'll wait a little bit." But then...what else was she going to do this morning?

"Faeqa's right, little Naji," Faiz's voice chuckled from off to one side as he walked up to the pair. Little Zeki'Ilhami was padding beside his father's side, looking part tired and yet wide awake. The small cub was so much like his father in his mannerisms it was almost scary, and yet he looked almost nothing like his father.
He'd been doing his normal rounds, taking Zeki along with him. It wasn't because he asked his sons to come with him, simply because they asked to come with. Both were very enthusiastic in learning what their father did, on how to be good Pads in the future. It made the Vizier a very proud father and hopeful that his future cubs were as diligent as Zeki and Ilyas. He may not have been the ambitious type, but he was still proud that his sons seemed to be.
"Morning Maamaan Fae, Maamaan 'Jiyya," the little cub greeted with a small yawn. Faiz glanced down at the cub who in turn stretched and then walked over to Naji to nuzzle her leg fondly. Zeki liked Naji, she was fun. He loved all his moms the same, but Naji was by far the most fun to be around. "Zeki wanted to come with this morning on my rounds," Faiz explained as he approached Faeqa and gave her a fond nuzzle. "How are you this morning, my sweets?"

The girls looked up at the sound of the Vizier's voice, eyes brightening to see him and the little cub in toe! The boys certainly were promising to grow up to be good pads! It warmed their hearts to think of it.
"Faiz! Zeki!" Najiyya squeaked happily, glad to have that moment of boredom vanquished at their appearance.
"Good morning, Vizier Faiz. Good morning, Zeki'ilhami." Faeqa, the more respectful of the sisters came to stand next to Najiyya, smiling as the little cub came to rub himself against her sister. It surprised her to no end to see her younger sibling coping so well with caring for cubs. Being irresponsible and somewhat rebellious, she had been a bit nervous about the sort of role model she might make, but Fae's worries were apparently not necessary. The cubs had taken to her well and Najiyya's behaviour around them was nothing less than attentive and caring.
She looked up again, just in time to receive his affectionate nuzzle and felt the heat of embarrassment spread across her face. She dipped her ears and purred, quietly. "We're very well, thank you, though sometimes I wish Najiyya would not be so enthusiastic in her caring duties. She wakes me too early." She smiled. "Actually, I'm glad you happened by. Everyone has been so busy since the little ones arrived that we've barely had time to congratulate you. We'll take the opportunity now, won't we, Najiyya?"
The white female had hunkered down into a playful pounce position and was smiling at Zeki. "So, is your father going to teach you lots of things today, Zeki?" She paused and threw a smile up at the adults. "Oh, yes, congratulations, Faiz! They're so cute and so much fun!" Her attention swiftly went back to the cub and she gave him a playful poke.
Fae, looking somewhat embarrassed, threw Faiz an apologetic look.

Faiz laughed, deep and good-naturedly at his Banu, happy that she got on so well with the cubs. In truth, she seemed so much like them, that he had no problem trusting them in her care. He knew his girls would let nothing happen to his cubs. They were one big, mostly-happy family, after all. He loved his ladies, he had a good feeling they loved him, and he cubs adored their numerous moms.
"I'm glad to hear that, and thank you for the congratulations. You two are being so helpful," he replied and nuzzled Fae some more. "I'm sorry she woke you, Fae. Do you want me to have a talk with her about that?" Faiz whispered, his mouth close to her ear so that her sister would not overhear. He moved his head away so that he could look down at her, concern for her in his eyes. He didn't want his females being overly tired, after all.
Zeki was completely occupied by Naji. He grinned and crouched down in a similar position, reaching out to press his paw-pads against her nose. "'Course, silly 'Jiyya. Pedar always teaches me lots of things," he replied and tapped her nose before he started stalking around his other-mom.

He would hear no complaints from these two. As far as they were concerned, they were the luckiest banu in all the lands!
"Even still," Faeqa added, "if there is anything more we can do, be sure to let us know." She smiled at Faiz's whispered words and shook her head, grateful for his concern. "It's fine, honestly." She whispered back. "I'm used to her and...it's really wonderful to see her so happy and involved in something. At least the cubs will keep her out of mischief!" She laughed and raised her voice again to normal level.
"And one day, young man, you'll be able to show 'Jiyya a thing or two about proper play fighting!" She laughed, her eyes twinkling with amusement. Then to Faiz; "You and Tuliua must be very proud. How is she doing, honestly? We spoke to her just before the birth, she seemed...worried, I supposed."
Najiyya laughed and sneezed as he pressed her nose with his paw. What a neat move! She crawled after him, calling out. "Now, where do you think you're going, Zeki~? Don't think Fae can protect you from me!" And she bounced after him, intending to tickle him if she managed to catch him.

"As you wish, sweet Fae," Faiz whispered back as he gave her another slow nuzzle. The large lion sat where he was and licked once at her ear, a playful smirk spreading on his face. "You two are doing a great job helping with everything. I'm sure she appreciates your help." He tilted his head with a smile as he considered her question. He had spent some time away from Tuliua, only to give her some space. He helped with the cubs and visited with her once every day or two, but he didn't want to smother her. "She seems fine to me. Much better since then."
"Betcha one day I'll be big and strong like Pedar and win any fights I have to," Zeki laughed back then left off with a small growl as she crawled after him and scrambled back a bit farther so that he had enough spaced to run at Naji and pounce at her. Faiz had been teaching his sons the right way, to never fight unless they needed to, in defense of themselves or others unable to defend themselves. Teaching them to cherish their females when they grow older, and to protect them from those that threatened their harem or the pride's way of life. Just as he was helping to teach his daughters to honor the males of the pride, respect their fellow females, and to be good, strong huntresses. One day, he hoped that his family would go into the history tales of how ideal they were in the ways of the pride.

She blushed again, even now still unused to these attentions. She loved them, for they made her feel wanted and useful and warm inside. She couldn't help how she felt about him. He was a gentleman, he was handsome. He had a good harem that he ruled with a just and good mind, not of cruelty. She adored him more than she had ever thought possible.
She dipped her head, embarrassed at the flattery. "I do hope so. It lightens my heart to hear that she is doing well. I knew she would. She's a good, kind girl."
She blinked, turning her eyes back to the cub and her sister, rolling her eyes a little. "Sometimes I think Najiyya never truly grew up."
Naji gave a squeal as the cub evaded her grasp and lowered her chest to the floor in a play bow. "You're a slippery one, Zeki! You sure will be big and strong!" She braced herself to be pounced by the cub, laughing in anticipation and flicking brown eyes up to her sister and Faiz. It was cute, she thought, how her usually stern sister acted all fluttery around him.

Faiz chuckled and nodded. He was glad that Faeqa got along with Tuliua. He had so much trouble with Mzu getting along with the other girls, at least the other three seemed to get along alright. That made him happy, at least to a certain degree. He wished that they could all just get along, but that was really wishful thinking on his part. He had no doubt that it would never be as he wished.
And then there was Naji. He tilted his head a bit as he considered her with a fond smile. "Perhaps, but I think it's endearing. She has a way with the cubs. She's almost like a big sister to them," he replied, glancing down at Faeqa as he said so.
Zeki landed against one of Naji's shoulders and quickly scrambled up onto her back. He couldn't help but wonder if she'd carry him about. It was fun to be up on his father's or one of his mothers' backs. He could see farther and felt so much taller. Being smaller than his brother, and almost as small as he sisters, he had something of a size complex, beside being the most purple of all his siblings. "Carry me, 'Jiyya!" he laughed, his ears perked up happily.

(( sorry for the wait, hon @_@ ))
"She is." Faeqa replied, looking at her sister and the cub with fondness. Then, stepping close to Faiz, she gently pressed her head up against his cheek, purring a little. "If you don't mind, I think I'm going to go and get ready to track the herds. Now that I'm wide awake I may as well put it to some use."
She curled her tail, somewhat shyly and turned back to throw a glance at her sister.
"Are you coming, Naji?"
Naji was currently being clambered upon by young Zeki, crouched down to make it easier for him to sit across her back. Then, with a laugh, she nodded and stood, being careful to move smoothly incase she tupped him forwards.
There was no way she wanted to hurt the boy!
"One day you're going to be too big to carry!" She exlaimed, light-heartedly, taking a few experimental steps. Then her eyes cast towards her ginger-pelted sister and her ears drooped.
"But...but...we're playingggg." She whined. "Aren't we, Zeki?"

Faiz gave Faeqa a short nod, accompanied by a nuzzle when she pressed her head to his cheek. That was his Fae, ever the diligent creature. He wouldn't have her any other way. "As you will, dearest," he replied with another nod.
Zeki laughed a bit as Naji walked around a bit. And then mama Fae went and spoiled it. When Naji's ears drooped, so did his. He slipped down into a lying position on Naji's back and did his best not to pout. Good, strong warriors like his papa didn't pout, so neither would he. That didn't mean he couldn't complain. "Yeah, Maamaan Fae. Can't Maamaan 'Jiyya stay and play with me a little longer?" The cub paused there, looking to his father expectantly. "Please, Pedar?"
Faiz tilted his head a bit in thought and glanced at Faeqa again. "If Faeqa needs Naji to go with her, she should go. But if she can be spared for a bit, then I am approving of that."

She tingled with joy at his flattery and lifted her head and whiskers a little. She adored Faiz and would do anything to please him. How different she and her sister were! Though, the ginger-pelted one mused that Naji probably was helping...in her own little way.
She glanced between the three faces and felt herself wavering. She really should make her little sister come with her, but could she really break them up? It seemed like a terribly mean thing to do.
She laughed a little, rolling her eyes. "Very well, you can stay and play. I'll collect you later." She cats another smile towards Faiz, and, with a dip of her head, turned and loped off before she had a chance to change her mind.
Najiyya could have whooped with joy but decided, instead, on trotting a large circle with Zeki still upon her back. "Did you hear that, Zeki? We get to play!" She paused to push her head happily beneath Faiz's chin, purring with such volume that her whole body seemed to buzz with it.
"Thank you, Faiz. Fae always listens to you."

Faiz chuckled at the sisters' antics, Fae's modesty and sweet temperament and Naji's happy, cheerful attitude. He gave her an affectionate nuzzle back with his own little nod. "Never a problem, sweet. I need to go have a chat with my brother now, so I'll leave the two of you to your games. Just don't stay out too late, alright?" He had faith that Naji would do as he asked. Even though she was rather carefree and playful lioness, he trusted her to do what he asked of her, especially when it dealt with his children.
He gave her a lick on her cheek before turning away, heading towards the royal harem.

Her sister was gone. They had permission to play. How could the day get any better than this? With a wide grin, she bowed her head a little as Faiz dismissed himself with a few final words.
"Okay, Faiz!" She chirped, eyes bright. And he was right. She was a little careless at times, had a tendency to...bend rules, but even she understood the importance of children and keeping them safe. She would certainly not put him in jeopardy.
With a light purr, she returned her attention to watching the youngster, wishing that she could be little again. More carefree and innocent than she was now.
