This Anime is awesome. I saw it years ago on TechTV's Anime Unleased (before g4 ruined it)
1st half of the show is Brandon Heat and his friend living on the tough streets before saving this mob boss, and joining him.
The 2nd half is after when Brandon dies and a scientist in the mob tries to bring Brandom back to defeat the new Mob leader that has taken over.

(Also has a PS2 video game)
