Making your own fursuit

I found this site because I wanted to just make a tail and it's less expensive to make it yourself. It also has paterns for full fursuits as well.

I saw an awesome Snow Leopard tail that someone made on FA link ! I so want one. Ears, hand aws and tail would be lovely. I'm shooting for the tail first, and I haven't found any ears that I have particularly liked.

Snow leopards are so pretty! Thats what I wanted to be a first but it doesn't feel right for some reason. .-.

i've been thinking about taking a soft sculpture class so i can learn how to make a sweet Ram suit.

if the horns were made out of clay how would they stay? wouldn't it be heavy?

Foam, not clay. You can sculpt foam with a knife or hot blade.

I want a tail that looks realistic and blends from grey to black. I almost feel like finding a REAL tail from an animal, like from a fur trader like the one I was talking to yesterday. Trying to get a real tail in that grey to black pattern may be tough though. And I wonder where they get the fur.. the guy said he gets them from native american trappers at trade fairs.

But it may be easier to buy a tail than make one, maybe.

as for a fursuit I don't want a full one. I want a head/paws/feet type, maybe. At the last furmeet I saw someone wearing a suit that didn't have an enormous, nausiatingly happy cartoonish head. Rather, it was like a mask that fit snugly around the head and was about the size of a human head instead of being 2 or 3 times the size of a human head and ackward. And it was just a head, paws, and a tail, and it seemed to work good.

I just don't know why people always want their fursuits to be all cartoonish and have the giant cartoon eyes. I rather perfered this small latex head this person had made with the black beady eyes.
