So I've noticed that there wasn't any formal presidential recognization that today is 9/11. I believe every year in the past, Bush has made a speech regarding it, and honored it in some way. I hardly even realized today was 9/11, and had only seen one sign all over town mentioning the date.
So, is America over the tragedy, or has it become forgotten?

I'm over it. I've been over it. The year after that incident I was over it. America needs to get over it. It's been what? Nine years or something? (I'm too tired to think of the actual year, wasn't is 2000 or 2001?)

I'm actually happy to hear that most of the country's finally over it.
I myself, though I'll always honor those that died, don't think there's a need to make an ordeal of it every year.
Death: It was 2001, make this the 8th anniversary.

really? I'm sure I saw on teh news something where Obama and his wife were dressed in black with a bunch of people at the zone where the towrs collapsed. though i could be wrong, i didn't have the volume on the tv....
At any rate, over in England we've had a few commemoration stuff on tv to remember it (ainly recycling the dramatisations of it on the freeview history channel).
I was on the bus today and the fireman museum had a sign up saying '9/11 never forget'.
we shoudl be over it by now. historically, politically and morally it was a big thing, but it was only a disaster. It was just extraordinary that it happened in America and it was so well planned when no-one expected it.
We only have a passing mention about the terroist attacs by the same people that happened here where that bus in london blew up and they blew up one of the tube trains. *shrugs*
I suppose it's important for politicians to rememebr it - they can use it as a playing card to wave in people's faces for the whole Iraq farce.

I didn't hear about it at all during school. o: Someone would maybe say "9-11." Really loudly, and we'd all be silent for a little bit. But that's all. Thinking back to the day when it happened...Just hurts. When I woke up, I noticed that my door was open and I could see my parent's TV. The first thing I saw when I looked at it, was the plane crashing into the building. I couldn't sleep well for about two weeks after that. My mom got me a stuffed animal with red, white and blue ribbons around the neck.

I've been over it for awhile mainly due because I didn't live in the area or had family there-so it was easier and faster for me to get over.
My university had a moment of silence or something in remembrance of it. They sent it by email, but I didn't check my email until late that night so I missed it.

It always catches me by surprise because of the way the months are flipped on the dates.
I'm usually like: "9/11? oh, SEPTEMBER!" *facepalm* "crap..."

It is important to honor those who died, but it seemed for a while people were making sort of a gloomy holiday out of it. It's good to move on after tradgety.

I'm over it. I'm sure a lot of people are too b/c it was barely mentioned here at work. It reminds me that everyone seemed to have forgotten that there were 2 times it was bombed. The first time it wasn't so big but people did die. And then there was 9/11. I didn't have anyone there so it was easy for me to get over it. It's sad for those who lost family but it's been a long time now so it's nice to know that it's not a day of mourning anymore.

I don't think anyone will really forget about what happened on 9/11. But I think people are trying to move on from the tragedy. The Obamas did go to ground zero for a memorial service, btw.
