Yeah she said she based Bella off of her. I think she based Leah off of her somehow too. I think she thought of Bella as her beautiful self and Leah as her less beautiful self or Leah as her intelligent self. I'm not sure off the top of my head but I read it somewhere.

i don't really care. haha. most writers tend to base characters looks on the familiar....which can come from ourselves, or people we know or have seen before.
Any one notice many fans have been... almost ripping on the series now? Though we all still love it. gonk Such a big love-hate relationship.

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Bella was based off Stephenie. I think it's easy for a writer to place themselves, or a version of themselves, in as the main character. It's probably something that's fairly common in the literary world, but No other series has been scrutinized quite as much as Twilight.

It's probably something that's fairly common in the literary world, but No other series has been scrutinized quite as much as Twilight.
Um, it's called a Mary-Sue, and Bella scored an 81 on the Mary-Sue litmus test... and Edward scored a 98... which is sort of funny, considering the main character of my original fiction who is also a vampire, scored a 16.
