A truck overturned today approximately twenty miles southeast of Kerman, just outside of Mahan. The truck was part of a military convoy and was believed to be carrying experimental biological weapons. Most concernedly, an open barrel with the serial number “L3F74D34D”. Iranian intelligence has released the nature and symptoms of the virus to the public and has requested that anyone who identifies a possible victim to not confront them, but instead contact police or military authorities immediately in order to contain the threat.
The virus works by cutting off circulation to the brain with the exception of the medulla oblongata. Those infected will begin to show symptoms within 24 to 48 hours from time of exposure. They will appear disoriented and act irrationally with total memory and speech loss. An increase in violent behavior was reported in over half the cases as well. There is no known cure for the virus at this time and the mortality rate is 95%.
It is unknown at this time how many are infected nor the total area affected. It is believed that the virus cannot survive for long periods of time airborne, but can survive indefinitely inside the human body. The virus can be spread through transmission of bodily fluids such as blood or saliva, so precautions must be taken when handling casualties.
