Yes, I've been raiding 'the chive' again, but this really caught my attention. Artist/photographer Daniel Lee has made these stunning crossinsg fo human and animal. i'm amazed by how you can tell what they are just by looking at them - it just shows how distinctive animal faces are. These are his chinese new year collection

it fascinates me, because i love to create alien characters/species and it's so difficult to create the humanoid-but-not-a-person-with-face-paint-like-star-trek feel. I think I could really learn from this.

[I need to figure out a baboon 'manimal' - any ideas?]

i know!
I had a fiddle aroudn photoshop in an attempt to recreate something like it. I failed horribly.

on the topic of animalish stuff the "mont'an" alien race I mad eup are supposed ot be descended form basically tree-babboons, and I've been having trouble making them look like they're humanoid but decsended from a completely different type of monkey.

So doodly doodly and here's the Mont'an mk 2. What do you think> Does it actually look ANYTHING like a baboon? sweatdrop

Just wondering because when I think of baboons my first thought goes to their booty....lol sweatdrop

Wow. o_O! He's really skilled and they do look realistic.
Photoshop can do wonders. This kinda reminded me of the new movie that's going to come out in the future. Thundercats just CG I believe. ^_^

Not too ba d- I've got a ref picture. Though i fail at drawing six-packs sweatdrop
Trying to fiddle with proportions is difficult too >< It'll either look stupidly freak or it'll end up looking like a too-average human -haha xp

I tend to be better at girls than guys. While my sister is better at guys than girls. XD

its teh same with me and my sis, just opposite.
I can draw guys but don't like drawing girls, and she can draw girls but hates drawing guys lol
