Parisa considered herself mature, she thought she was proving to everyone just how dedicated she was to becoming a good banu, no not just good, Great! She woke promptly every morning and greeted her mothers, then she spent time on a grooming session to keep herself looking unruffled and clean. She then asked for permission and was allowed to go outside and practice her hunting, she normally tried to take advantage after her practice time to meet other banu and Pads and learn from them.
She had just finished practice infact and was curiously wandering in small zigzags making sure the den was within sight. She knew someone in her family was keeping an eye on her but she always tried to make sure she had an eye on things for herself. She had heard a rumor that one of the Pads was back, the son of the old Vizier, and judging by the way her uncle had spoken about him he was probably one of the best Pads around. Unfortunantly for her she had yet to catch even a glimpse of him, she didn't even know what he looked like, but she liked to think she would be able to spot him anyway.

It had been a couple of days since her talk with her Pad, Yusri'Khalil and since then, he had given her a little more freedom to go around the pride by herself so long as she asks for permission and didn't wander outside of the pride lands.
So therefore, she took this time to glance around the pride and try to become familiar with it. This was her new home, whether she wanted to admit it or not, her life was now here and it wouldn't do any good if she didn't get to know any of the members of the pride. She glanced around at all the activity of the pride and was slightly surprised at the liveliness of the pride!

Parisa blinked as she spotted a green and white female in the distance, she hadn't seen her around. Was she new? Was she with the great Pad her uncle had spoken about? Parisa started to run towards her but swiftly changed her pace to something more casual, she lifted her head regally trying not to look like she was in a rush. That was better, more dignified like aunt aysel, papa and mama would be so proud of her self control.
With a soft smile she approached the older female trying to appear nonchalant. "Good Morning..." she might have just kept walking but instead gave a soft pause. "I haven't seen you around, are you a new Banu?"

It didn't take long for the sound of little paw pads to reach her ears as Elarinya stopped and turned to the source of the sound. Oh! A little lioness was heading in her direction. The sight of the cub made her smile, cubs were definitely her weakness as she loved the little bundles of joy.
As the other greeted her she returned the gesture with a smile of her own as she nodded to the question, "Good morning to you. Yes, you are correct. My Pad, Yusri'Khalil, and my fellow Banus have returned back to the pride not too long ago. My name is Elarinya. What is your's?" She tilted her head slightly towards the cub, curious.

"I'm Parisa! It's a pleasure to meet you! Your Pad must be the one my uncle was talking about, your very lucky! Most Pads don't go on raids alone, it's so dangerous!" Her voice went breathless for a moment and she frowned slightly thinking of her brothers, time would not stop though, they would have to go eventually.
She forced a small smile "How do you like it here? My aunt Taja says it's much warmer here then it was at her old home, but I don't think she minds."

"A pleasure to meet you as well, Parisa!" Such a lovely name for the cub, as she was admiring the lovely markings of the cub. They suited the cub very well and would be such a lovely lioness! At the little cub's words she couldn't help but to giggle softly, as she could hear the adoration in her words. "You are correct. My Pad is friends with many of the older members of the pride, from what I am told," She paused briefly, what to say about him? Hm. "I was completely charmed by him, that is certainly true."
Though she was taken back by the little one's questions. It had been some time since she was asked that question and when it was first addressed to her the answer was not encouraging, but now....it has changed. "It is taking me some time to adjust. The pride is much different from where I was from. But..." What were the words she was searching for? "I am starting to feel like this is becoming my home. It does start to feel less and less strange to me."
Curious, "What about you, Parisa? Tell me about yourself! I heard that there are many cubs around. Who is your father?"

"Elarinya is such a pretty name, your very pretty too! Are you a good huntress? I'm trying to become a good huntress so I can be a great banu!" She blushed and lowered her voice trying to recompose herself. "Uncle Aali said your Pad was our former Vizier's son, I think he'll try to become a Vizier like his father, that's why I wanted to meet him. My papa is Vizier Faiz, he's very very smart and has good advice all the time."
She smiled up at the pretty lioness her eyes took in everything and as badly as she wanted to she bit her lip to keep from asking how the other banu had gotten such scars. "I'm glad your feeling more at home...it woud be sad if you were a Kajira, the pride has no kajira anymore thanks to Vizier Tariq."

Parisa was just too adorable and she had a feeling that the lioness would achieve much as she seemed so ambitious! At the little one's statements she nodded in return, "Yes, that is correct. My Pad would like to follow in his father's footsteps and be a Vizier. If you want, I would be more than happy to take you to meet my Pad sometime. I am sure he would be very happy to meet you since he knows your father very well. And even then, you can't miss him. He's big and green with a pink nose!" She smiled.
Then she shook her head, "I am a good huntress but not the best. My Harem sister, Zulaica, is a better huntress than me." Her tail flicked slightly as she tilted her head curiously, "This pride is very different from my previous home, but it is starting to grow on me and have plenty of good qualities about it."
She could see that the little one was curious but was refraining from asking. And she had a feeling that she knew what the little one was questioning about. It was typically the first thing that most other lions saw about her too. She lowered her head slightly to look at the little lioness as she smiled kindly, "My scars are from my previous life before being taken to the pride here. I was trying to save someone from a fight and got wounded in the process."

She took in every word with contained excitement listening to her describe her Pad, and her hunting skills, it took real honesty to admit she was not the best. "I'm glad you understand the good things about our home. Are you a beybanu?" She tilted her head wondering curiously if the new female had been given such an honor.
She blushed and looked mildly embarrassed that her eyes had given her away, yet the story of the scars was interesting. "Oh...you were brave to try and step in..." but you should have minded yourself, she wanted to add but dared not speak in such a way to the older female. With luck she had already learned that lesson.

At the question she shook her head, "My Pad has not chosen his Beybanu yet. He tests us every day to see who is the most worthy of the title as he doesn't want to make a rash decision on something as important as that." And she had a feeling that it would not be her to receive the title as she did not feel she was the best, when compared to Zulaica as there were many things she was still trying to grasp.
She smiled gently, "Brave, and perhaps stupid, but no matter. It is the past and something that won't happen again." At least now she knows how to control her visions more.
"What happens to you when you get older? My Pad does not have cubs yet, so I am still trying to get familiar with all the customs."

"You should work hard to prove yourself, the title of Beybanu is a high honor, I hope someday..." but no such desires were silly to state outloud, she still had much to prove. She nodded softly at the older female glad that she had learned from her experiences, in turn it was a reminder to Parisa to learn from the mistakes of others, always mind your own.
"When I am older Papa will choose a Pad for me, it's very important because Pads form alliances that way. My brothers will be sent on their quest to find a banu of their own and earn the rank of Pad." Her ears fell back as she looked down worried for a moment before forcing her gaze up. "I...I know they'll be back..."

The older lioness listened quietly to the younger lioness. It woudl do her some good to learn as much as she can about customs and traditions. Perhaps...it would surprise Yusri. She knew it would and then she could boast about it in Zulaica's face. Oh, she would enjoy that very much!
"Oh, so daughters are gifted to other Pads while the sons go off to find Banus for themselves?" It kind of reminded her of a test or rite of passage almost similar to what her former pride did. But without the whole ownership aspect of the females, where instead going out into the wild and fending for one's self to show strength and fearlessness was something that they had valued.
She smiled softly to the younger cub, "I am sure that if your father and all the Pads have done as good as a job as they can and that the young males listen, that things will turn out fine. But I can imagine that you would be scared for them nevertheless," She paused to tilt her head to the side thoughtfully, "We had a rite very similar in my former pride, where once a cub hit adolescence they had to go out to the wilderness and fend for themselves for so many moons that the leader decided on. I remember when my best friend went before me, it was a very scary feeling."

"Yes, Pads make alliances by gifting banu to one another or finding their daughter a new Pad from outside of the pride. It's very important for us to show our best, put our best foot forward. Pads that come from afar are important as well because they bring new skills, new stories, and information, and new bloodlines. Banu from afar are dangerous because their minds have often been tainted by the Kajira who abound in the lands of rogue lions." She smiled up at the older banu pleased to be able to share information with her.
"Did she come back?" Her blue eyes were filled with concern, she worried about her brothers, and wondered what the odds of survival were when one was all alone. "

As Parisa told her all of the information, she was quiet and took everything in. The young female seemed very happy and proud of her home, why couldn't she feel the same way? Perhaps it would just take time to get used to this, that was all.
At the question, she lowered her head to towards the young female as she smiled brightly and nodded, "She came back, after what felt like an eternity! I was so scared but knew that she was strong and would come back. As long as you have faith in their strength, there is no reason to worry."
