Why did I not know about this before? I guess I'm immune to most furry drama.

The biggest disappointment I have about this was that the episode was specifically about weird sex. In some ways it was just to show what kind of weird sex goes on, but it almost seemed to ridicule those people it showed. And why wasn't things like pony play, BDSM, pain and blood, slave and master, and other weird things displayed?

What a great way to display the furry fandom. "All furries are about are ******** in suits." What kind of message do you think that will give to Americans that either don't know about furries or have a negative image about it already? This show ignores the entire rest of the fandom and makes the fandom look like it's only about suits and sex in those suits.

Any fan with half a brain would realize this. Maybe the b***h Tyra's producers lured the furries onto the show under false pretense, but they didn't have to sit there on air and say "Our suits have holes for SEX!" I expect retaliation at fur cons if this couple shows their faces.

Uh, this show broadcast back in September, 3 months ago. Don't know why FA is down now. *chan attack or lack of money or internet failure, don't know.

Oh please.
The episode was about sex.
Of course it was going to focus on sex.

It wasn't "couples with strange lifestyles".
It was "couples with strange sex lives".

Plus, there were other couples focusing on the oddity in their sex lives, if you're saying that, you might as well go along with a, "What a great way to display suburban housewives. "All women are about is ******** multiple men."

Kitsu either lives under a rock, or needs lessons in paying attention.... or both. That's more possible than anything, really.

the wiki page seemed to take it all rather positively... and especially since the couple was monogamous in comparison to the other two couples who had sex with strangers, and were polygamous.

aside from what most people say about the fandom being separate from the sex image, or that it is a very small part i have to disagree. I go onto FA prior to proving my age, and i would browse images and searches all the time, there was really few updates maybe one or two every fifteen minutes.

i prove my age (allowing mature and adult images) and suddenly more than 8 our of 10 of the images i see are porn. and there were new images, several new images, uploaded every few minutes.

I have a hard time believing that there is such a distinct separation as so many people profess. i dont know a single furry that doesn't have a large collection of furry porn on their computer. I dont know a single furry that hasn't involved their fursonas in sex.

Lee... this should go in your special thread!!! blaugh

Yes, but then people outside the fandom see this and think "Oh furries, people who dress up in animal suits and have sex in them."

I plead the fifth about the pr0n.

There may not be a distinct separation, but seriously, do people really need to see the sexual aspect of the fandom first? Is that the only side that should be shown to the world? Does anyone else go around on tv and talk about what goes on in their bedrooms? My problem would be that only the sexual side of the fandom gets displayed to the masses. And then they think that all there is to the fandom is fursuit ******** do not and probably never will commission art of my fursona in a sexual way or situation.

And this is more important than my "special" thread.

I don't think anyone should be ashamed of the fact that the furry fandom is a highly sexual fandom. If that's not you, don't take it personally; inform people of the differences. People need to stop "Bawww"ing about the furries that get the most exposure and start spreading positive information, instead.

You missed the rest of my post. This show isn't to blame, if anything, find a better example.
This had other couples too, having weird sex lives.
It wasn't like, "OH FURRIES, ******** ******** FURRIES, FURFAGS".
It was like, "This couple, this couple, and that couple do some weird things behind closed doors".
Hell, the furries were probably the tamest ones there, and even got a good big old, "Aww", for saying they only sleep with each other.

And the furry fandom is pretty big on the sex.
There's enough of it in this guild.
The pictures, and the flirty, yiffy RPing, and all that nonsense.
And after a couple months in this guild, I think it's safe to say, I am not a furry.

THE EPISODE WAS ABOUT STRANGE SEXUAL IDENTITIES AND INTERESTS! ITS GOING TO INVOLVE SEX ISSUES!

franky its best people understand the nature of furry sexual identities, education eliminates ignorance. and that couple that did that interview seemed to express that in a respectable and harmless manner. I doubt most of the people that watched the show was upset or disgusted or misunderstood the candid honesty and sincerity of that couple's commitment to themselves and their beliefs. i cant see this as anything more than educational.

and yeahh i bet you would plead the fifth... PERV! jk... i just recently got myself an eeeellegal zip file of a s**t ton of hardblush, the comics are amazing.

i think 1. i think you exhaggerate the perceptions of most people outside the fandom. few people i know that are aware of the fandom view furries in that way.
2. i think the negative views and ignorance of the outside world towards the fandom is more a cause of furries themselves not willing to explain the fandom. the fandom is slowly growing more open to display but it has still been very secretive and hidden. most furs are stuck in views like yours, that outside people already have a predisposed opinion on the fandom and are not able to change their perception of it. they don't think that exposing the reality of it is going to help that perception. Yiff is the reality, but sex is important to just about everything in the world so why are so many people in the fandom so ******** insecure about explaining it? its foolish and its detrimental.
3. I think the sex involved with the fandom is fantastic. its progressive, and its liberating for a lot of otherwise repressed people. Its the outside western Puritanism that still slithers around in the backs of our minds that irritates me.

"Does anyone else go around on tv and talk about what goes on in their bedrooms?"

YES! haven't you seen reality tv shows? haven't you seen most pop music videos? tons of artful and respectable movies depict sexual situations. Family guy is filled with representations of sex.

we did have a sexual revolution a while ago man... it isnt 1950 anymore.

the whole culture of the west has become very public with its acceptance of sexuality. another example is Tyras show, this themed episode happening on a prime time show, with immense media coverage having an episode in the topic of strange sexual identities and interests.

people are willing to look into sexuality, they are willing to understand sexual people. people want to know, they are curious.

we should appease their curiosity. there is no shame in that.

i don't commission pronz either, i do most of my art myself, but even then i don't have any sexual representations other than wearing skimpy cross-gendered outfits in provocative poses. and yeah... i have been making a web comic in which my 'sona yiffs everything in sight... but thats just for fun.

aside from that, commissions are not what i mean so much as sl furry sex, talking about role play, I'm talking about going into networking sites and expressing their sexuality. Sexuality is an inseparable component of identity. thus to express one's identity must result in a willingness to express one's sexuality.

meh... nothing is more important than your special thread. its lonely... It misses the touch of your posts. It longs for your deep opinion! it longs to be filled with your girthy thoughts, it longs to be impregnated with your conversation!

IT NEEDS YOU! IT NEEDS YOU SO BAD!
