Her Guardian Angel
A girl alone in her room,
Watching the sharp blade of glass
slip from her bloody grasp.
tinted red...
'No one notices, no one cares.'
she says out loud, believing it
as the river of red flows from her wrists...
Soaking into her bed.
'no one cares' she says aloud again.
Only to be answered by another voice heard in the darkness...
'I care' says the voice...
'I've always cared'....
She opens her eyes to find
herself lying in the hospital
with someone sitting next to her
holding her hand.
Staring into her face
Waiting for her to wake up.
She opens her eyes
And looks upon the face of her angel....
She looks into his clear sapphire eyes,
feeling things she never thought possible...
the she would never feel......
She felt love in his eyes,
a new self-worth.
She knew...finally,
that someone cared...
