This is just a bit of a rant so don't take it too seriously.

There is no evidence to say that Paul is anti-Gnostic. If anything there's evidence to suggest he was pro-Gnostic, especially if Valentinus, the Gnostic that nearly became Pope, is telling the truth about his lineage.

FAQ
It's quite unfortunate that they shut their forum down after 4 years but s**t happens.

Edit: Short answer yes and no. Some consider it a tradition of Christianity since it used much of the Christian mythos and many Gnostics at the time identified themselves as Christian. Some don't consider it a sect of Christianity because of theological differences. Personally I do consider it a sect of Christianity.

So is that similar to when people say that they are agnostic?
Meaning they believe in the basics but don't have a single form of christianity they goto?

Gnostic means one who knows. Agnostic means one who does not know. Critical to Gnosticism is knowing the divine through direct experiential understanding. (gnosis)

Think for yourself man, don't do like they do...

Hmmm.
I'm sorry about all the questions lol.
But I have more....
How can a Gnostic be in the Catholic Church system if it is more or less another religon entirely?

...It's a sick world, you just gotta stay true.

No problem. Valentius lived before Christianity was officially defined in 325 CE. Before then there was not one church, that is a popular myth. He was nominated circa 140 CE for the Bishop of Rome CE, i.e. the Pope.
