Accessories: They don't make the gun, they just make the gun better. Can there be too much of a good thing? Hell yes. But when applied conservatively, they can turn an great gun into a motherflubbing awesome gun. (See: M21, before and after Leupold Scope)

However, one thing irks me about accessories. Price. This is a Mosin-Nagant scope mount. It is buried under an apartment complex listed at around $150. This is a Mosin-Nagant. It is listed at around $80.

Do you see something strange going on here? Why do you think accessories cost so damn much? Is it really worth the money?

$150 for a scope mount that's been tested and battle proven, and tough.

Not all Mosins are up to snuff for being snipers, but some are though.


If you want correct, the late 30's and 40's Mosins didn't get PE scopes/mounts, they got PUs, a mass produced scope and mount type.

A less complicated and less expensive to produce scope and mount was demanded, so the PU was born.
Kind of like the Thompson and the M3 Grease gun.
