Introduction

Ah, you've come to me for wisdom? Well dear one, sit down and I shall give you a story. The question is where to begin, for the book has just opened to page one. You see the many samurais outside this window right. You know they work for our 'king' am I correct? Of course I am, I have the wisdom of ages before. Ah, the perfect start. The king we have hasn't always ruled, in fact, he's older than you think. He's an evil man, even though many want you to believe other wise. The samurai are his arms, that crush the land and it's people. And you know of his two hands, his two advisors. Well let me tell you the story of Katsumi, who nobody knows. This is the one that just begins. First, maybe you should know of my history. I was born, three hundred years ago, so was our king. In my dreams I have seen the coming destruction of our world. My eyes have seen what no mortal should have to endure. Demons will flood our earth, and kill us all. But it was a propeshy, I saw lights enshrouded by a mist. Now you must not know stranger, but Katsumi does indeed mean mist. And you, you have come on your boats, flooding our isle with light. But the lights changed, they switched to darkness and threatened to overthrow the mist. That means, you stranger, have a choice to make. You will find a young upstart in the town square. No doubt the little rouge is stealing. But he isn't just any child, he's a ninja. So for a little advice. Watch your back, or stab before you get stabbed. Now go, save our world, or destroy it, it's your choice.

Many believe it to be the work of their own king, but some believe demons have come back to the world. If so, we are to watch out for the Archdemon Zenith. Almost about to open up. I've gotten a few complaints about the generic base. All I can say is do not worry. The intro will be changed when I get an idea. Of course the same storyline will be followed, but it won't be a flavorless story. So...yeah, don't complain if you've read this. OK, who left their pitchfork on my halo?

These are the races that can be used by you. As the gm of this rp, I am of course going say, nobody is not able to be killed. If you try that, i'll throw you out the door. Oh yes, most everything is going to be half and half, you have to be mortal to live on the mortal plain right?


Half-Angel:
These humans have been chosen to become angels before they died. They guard the earth with a strong sense for justice. Being only half angels, they still give in to things that tempt humans. They have the unique power of God, they can blind and bind their enemies and get themselves to safety. Their enemies are the half devils.




Half-devils:
These humans have done too much wrong in their time on earth. They have done so much, they were chosen by the devil himself to serve under his rule. Despite their violent tendencies, they are filled with a sorrow for themselves. Their one weakness is wanting to fix their mistakes. Their enemies are the half angels.



Humans:
We all know about humans. They make many mistakes, but they also do so much good. Being a human, they have no specific weakness, except for their frail bodies. Then, they have no specific strength, except for their willpower. They have no enemy races.


Shadows/phantoms:
These are humans that have died and had no alignment in life. They become shadows. They have the weakness every ghost has. They can be affected by holy items, such as crosses, holy water, etc. They can also be affected by magic, even shadow magic when used correctly. Their bodies will change color according to their emotions. Their enemies are the humans, but the humans do not take note of this.

These are the jobs that we have for use. Remeber, As I am the gm, I am saying, no roles that aren't on this list. You may want something else, but I really only wanted three roles. I may add more later, but for now, make due with these.



ninja:
Ninjas are the true shadows of the world. They fade into darkness, and reappear, deadly and ready to kill. They use magic, but refer to it as ninpo. Their magic is stronger than others, but they have slightly weaker armor. They only wear a thin garb and some light armor. They are faster than others though.



ronin/rouge samurai:
These ronin have broken away from control of the shogun. They live anywhere they want and do anything they want. Their bodies and minds are even, they don't surpass anyone. They are the middle types when it comes to everything. They normally wear medium armor under their robes. They are once again, even in everything.



samurai:
These are the town guards of sorts. They obey their leader and follow his instructions to the letter. They are stronger than all the others, but they aren't as fast or good with magic. They always wear heavy armor. When they use magic, they use it as much as possible. Their armor has removeable face plates.

These are magic ablities that can be used. Magic is leaving the world so you may only have one power. If all of the magic slots are filled, you may pm me on a new power you want. And no asking for something stupid like making bunnies appear out of thin air. We all know that won't work. When you choose your magic, I will mark it out so others won't take it away. Biography: Katsumi was born into royalty. He was lost in a bandit raid, meant for him. His sister was always sick, so she was slain by the bandits. With Katsumi lost, and the girl dead, the bandits did what they could. They slew his family and took control of the kingdom. Katsumi was found sometime later by a hermit of three hundered years. He was raised and tought the way of the shadows by several others. He's not as strong as other ninjas that are older than him, but he can make due with his speed. Katsumi lives in the city now, not plotting revenge, but living his life until he sees a chance. When he does, he'll take it.

Description physic: Katsumi's hair is long and black. He's kept it at bay by putting it in a ponytail as he's seen other ninjas with. His eyes are a deep blue, like an ocean. His body is lean not skinny. He is 5'5 and weighs 200 pounds. He can't use his size as an advantage, but uses everything else he can. He is strong, but you would barely be able to tell just by looking at him.
Description mental: Katsumi is your average rouge. He loves to use his abilities to steal. He has a good heart, but almost always puts it in the right place. He tries to be emotionless like other ninjas, but rarely makes that happen. He shows he cares at least ninety-nine percent of the time.

Weapons: A blood red and ebony black katana. The handle is black, but the katana is red. It has an immense heat to it. It was handed to him by the hermit who found him. He won't let anybody else touch it.
Powers: Mist

Other information: Katsumi has a special knife used by royal members of his family as a last defense. He rarely ever uses it as he doesn't want the last peice of information of his family bloody. He hides it in his armor so nobody tries to sell it. It is adorned with jewels, but used for fighting. He wears black armor under his garb. His armor is no better than other ninjas, just a bit tougher.

Biography: Shirogetsu ("white moon"), an albino, was named for her abnormally light skin. Because she could see best when it was dark, she developed a fondness for the darkness, which led to her learning it. For now, Shirogetsu doesn't belong to any one ninja clan and travels around the country, getting a job here and there to feed and sometimes house herself. Though she is a girl, she can pass by as a boy thanks to her covering most of her body, boyish clothes, and her short hair. Very useful when trying to find some manual part-time job that usually isn't offered to a girl. Because of her genetic defect, she has had a harsh past. Her parents gave her up when she was a child, fearing that she was possessed by some demon because of her appearance. She was given over to a ninja clan, who didn't think much better of her either. The only difference between the ninjas and her parents were that the ninjas believed that the demon within her, if there was a demon, would make her stronger. As a result, she had been trained ever since she could walk. Feeling no sympathy towards her because of her abnormal appearance, she was trained even harder and sent into more dangerous missions at a younger age than the others. This has hardened the young girl and isolated her from the rest of the world. At the same time, her early experiences during dangerous missions has led her to sometimes see fights as a game, especially the challenging ones. One day, Shirogetsu decided that she wanted to leave and so she left. Even at the age of twelve, she was known to be one of the best assassins in the clan. None of the others tried to stop her, some were even happy that she was going, so she had no trouble getting out. That was about a year before the start of the story. Shirogetsu still has the same emotionless gaze that she has had for as long as she can remember, despite having been free from any ties for so long.

Description physic: Her original appearance is that of fiery red eyes and white hair that is usually tousled up and short. Shirogetsu is an albino, but because she stands out like that, she'll usually cover up her unnaturally pale skin, hair, and eyes with a cloak. As an added protection she usually colors her hair black with some coal that she always carries and wears a bandage over her eyes, under the pretense that she is blind. Actually, that isn't far from the truth seeing how she can't see properly during the day because her weak eyes aren't good with sunlight. During the night, it's the opposite, her sensitive eyes give her much better night vision then normal eyes. In addition to better vision at night, her sense of smell, touch, and hearing are also better than a normal human's because of her lack of sight during the day. She usually carries around a wooden pole to help her walk around during the day as well to use as a weapon in a fight. The pole is painted black and hides a sword. To help hide, and shade, her sensitive skin from the sun, Shirogetsu also usually wears clothes that cover most of her body as well as gloves and a mask. She always makes sure that she can easily move in her outfit, which is usually made up of boy clothes. This, along with her straight figure, often lets her pass of as a boy. Other than the staff, she also carries a number of easily hidden weapons. Although she may be young, her gaze gives off a feeling of someone who has seen a lot.
Description mental: Although Shirogetsu may be quiet and reserved, she is by no means shy. If she wants to do something, then she will do it, whether or not the others agree. Actually, she usually won't ask for the opinions of others before acting. However, this doesn't mean she is brash, she coldly calculates every decision that she makes, it simply means that she acts alone and often has trouble working in a team. She is often blunt and will get straight to the point, whether or not the receiving end like it. While she may see fighting as a game, that doesn't mean she's a fighting maniac. Often times, she will prefer not to fight, as it is a waste of time, and will choose to do something more productive, like working for money. She is rarely interested in anything, even mildly, and takes nearly everything with a passive face.


Weapons: The staff/sword she usually carries around with her is her main weapon during the day. During the night, or when she uses her magic to block the sight of her enemy, she uses her deadlier weapons, knives, shurikens, smoke bombs, and poison darts. These weapons are kept carefully hidden beneath her clothes and cloak. She also usually carries rope, twine, a hairpin, and a file with her, carefully hidden, to use in various situations.
Powers: Darkness

Other information:Shirogetsu usually uses the darkness to cast illusions, hide herself, hinder the senses of her enemies, and block off light. If pushed to it, she can also use the darkness to attack, but she would prefer not to, as she relishes the feeling of moving her limbs when fighting.

Age: Appears to be 15 or 16

Role: Ronin Samurai

Biography: Emi was a good girl before she died, fighting for what's right and never giving up. She was given the choice of becoming an angel after her death and she gladly took it, the idea of being able to do good even after her natural life was appealing. She never expected her death to come so soon though. She was helping a peasant being hassled by a few Samurai when she was, quite literally, stabbed in the back.

Description physic: Emi has long, white blonde hair. She is quite scrawny but is stronger then you would think. Her eyes are a piercing blue, the color of a midsummer's sky. She wears darker colors of clothes which contrasts greatly with her light skin. She can disguise her wings so that they disappear as a half-angel may not be accepted everywhere and information may be easier gotten as a human. She can only hide them from human eyes though, another half-angel, a half-demon, or a phantom will still be able to see them.
Description mental: Emi was always a quiet girl. She became a samurai at an early age, following in her father's footsteps. She wanted to help protect the people, but when she found out how the samurai's really 'kept the peace' she got out. Went rogue. She is still quiet, a good judge of character she will either trust you, or not, there is no middle ground. She does not judge harshly but is rather forgiving, as is God, Himself who made her what she is.

Weapons: She carries with her two fans. They are enchanted so that they act as boomerangs, they come back when thrown. They are sturdy things, able to withstand much. They are strengthened so that she can use them to block a blade as well as manipulate the wind with them. She also carries a thin katana; the blade is so polished it is almost white and the handle is wrapped in stained, white leather.
Powers: Wind

Other information: She will accept almost anyone as they are, but if they work for the side of evil she will never trust them. She will not attack on sight unless attacked first.

Biography: Himoto had been captured by Samurais when she was 5.She had a happy life before playing with her brother as well as exploring with him.She had gotten into mishchif as little kids do at times but always got out of it okay somehow.When she was captured it all turned upside down.She had little to eat and was always beaten up when she 'spoke out of terms'.Onces when chaos happend around the cell she was put in she got help from various people.Her parents didn't manage to escape though and are still held in the cell.

Description physic: Short purple hair.Icy bluish bright eyes.Vest like top with a strap that comes from the right side of her vest over her left sholder.Bandaged from the top of her right arm to the elbo.A skirt that is down to her knees.Wings comeing out of her back(they are small).No shoes nor socks.A ribbon in her hair.
Description mental: Himoto is kind and hates violence.Instead of killing; like other ninjas, so she instead trys to stick to things like recon duty.

Biography: When Akihiko was born,he was raised to be a samurai. The King thought he had been suited for it,and he lived to his reputation.He was very stealthy and quiet,and the King started to think differently towards him.He was banished from the land but attacked the samurais who forced him out.He then had to live a hard life,staying away from crowds and samurais.He lived somewhat quietly and started to steal.In the end,he was stowing away on ships.He tried to get jobs but his Fire ability didn't work for him.He was again captured and sentenced to hanging,but burned the rope and jumped onto a ship.He lived as a stowaway on the ship somehow and when it came to dock,everyone had forgotten him.He still had to live as a stowaway.

Description physic: He is 5'3" and because of this size,he travels in vents.He has dirty blonde hair,green eyes,and is thin.His legs are not very long,but he still makes use of them.
Description mental: He is easily angered and often will react on first notice.He makes plans for later,and times his movement well for easy running and stowawaying.

Weapons: Two long swords,a blade in his right shoe,and a knife for undoing locks in his left shoe.

Biography: Kage has existed longer than anybody in the kingdom. He's grown up with the Sage, they both know everybody's history. He was born as a Phantom. He is easily stronger than everybody in existence. He has only one weakness, it is true light. He killed Katsumi's family and took control. He had several agents to leak information, so when he struck, it was hard and fast. He had stolen Katsumi's second heirloom meant for his sister, the blue destiny sword. He acts as if he cares for his samurais, only a few of them recive his thanks. He is more powerful than the sage. He keeps his cool unless it isn't needed, he actually talks normally to a few people. He watches his kingdom and strikes at any heritics. There is another blade he wants, the red destiny sword.

Description physic: He is 6'7 with large muscles. He has white hair that reaches over his eyes. His eyes are a dark red that seemed to radiate with rage. He is normally angry anyway.
Description mental: Has barely any emotions. He is no longer human, he is almost demon like. He is a shadow, just like Sage. They both are of the same bloodline.

Weapons: One extremely long, powerful katana. It was forged to cut through armor easily. The sword is known as the blue destiny sword, it belongs to Katsumi by heritage.
Powers: water

Name: Tenshiko Shugosha
Age: 15

Alignment: evil

Role: Samurai

Biography: Tenshiko has had the usual samurai upbringing with bushido and everything. She is loyal and can hold her own with the other male samurai. However, that doesn't make her cold. Just because she is with the samurai and can hold her own with them, doesn't mean that she is uncaring for the commoners. She will immediately help whoever she sees to be in trouble and is often the one that discourages other samurais from hurting the locals. Of course, there is only so much she can do before she has crossed too far. In these cases, she is forced to stand idly, or even participate in, as the orders are carried out. She is the second daughter out of three (there are no sons) from a daimyo family that was loyal to the shogun, who was in the inner circle of Katsumi's father's court. Because they were simply a daimyo family, they were spared with only minimal losses when the bandit came to power. Although her family continues to support the true loyal family, they keep their opinions in the dark. To them, rebelling will achieve nothing and lose everything, especially since, for all they know, Katsumi's whole family has died. Even if Katsumi was alive, they, well at least Tenshiko, wouldn't dare rebel. She was born shortly before the murder of the king, and so knows nothing about him. Although her family talks about his generosity and kindness, for Tenshiko it doesn't matter. To her, the king isn't something tangible, but her family is. If she rebels then her family will be in danger. If her family is killed, then she wouldn't be able to live with herself. Light manipulation has been passed down through her family. Although, it is supposed to be passed on to the boys, especially the heir, Tenshiko has inherited it because of her natural physical talent and the lack of male heirs (her mother died and his father isn't one to take mistresses so there are no possibilities of a male heir being born). The same reason also applies to why Tenshiko has learned bushido and kendo (as well as other martial arts), allowing her to become a samurai. Of course, she also had the traditional training that most females of the samurai class had, so she can act with the grace of a high-class woman if need be. It also means that she can deftly wield a kaiken (tantojutsu) and naginata (naginatajutsu).

Description physic: Black hair and dark brown, the kind that looks black, eyes. She has delicate fingers that are callused from training so much, despite wearing gloves, and her features clearly convey her aristocratic blood. Despite her refined features, she can fight just as well as any man, although her attacks do rely more on cleverness and speed then the usual power and strength that most samurai rely on, and is often indistinguishable from them with her mask and armor on. Unlike most other women of her time, her skin has a healthy tan to it from being outside so much and her limbs are strong. Despite her training and skill, she isn't as strong as most of the other samurai and so will usually wear slightly lighter armor, and less of it. Underneath her armor, she usually wears a short, long-sleeved tunic and long pants that are easy to move in. On her feet, she wears comfortable straw sandals. On her chest, arms, and legs, Tenshiko also wears light, leather armor to help buffer the extra punch she receives from attacks because of her lighter armor. Her long hair is usually tied back in a loose ponytail and kept out of her face with a headband. If she had her way, she would've cut it a long time ago, but her sisters and other relatives insist that she keep her hair long because it's traditional to and because it reminds them of their mother. Although Tenshiko doesn't understand why, most of her family claim the same thing, that she most resembles her mother out of the three children despite her tan skin and tomboy behavior.
Description mental: Tenshiko naturally has a strong sense of justice, which is intensified by her adherence to bushido, making her extremely loyal and disciplined. She is most loyal to her family, and is only loyal to the current ruling power so she can protect her family. If she is forced to choose between honoring her values or protecting her family, she will choose the latter. Despite that, if her family isn't endangered by it, she will often fight for what she believes is right, and will try her best to ease the effects that the samurai have on the civilians. However, that isn't an easy thing to do because of the hate that most of them feel for her class. When she isn't up against an enemy or someone she dislikes, Tenshiko can be very amiable and kind. When she is up against an enemy or someones she dislikes, it depends on whether or not her family will be hurt by her actions, what she wants to do. If there is a chance that they will be, then she will do her best to contain herself and not anger the other person. If it's sure that they won't, she'll treat the enemy coldly and destroy him quickly or scorn the person that she dislikes.
Weapons: The traditional daisho (katana and wakizashi) on the hip, a small tanto (around 9 in. long) up her sleeve, a naginata strapped to her back, and her deceased mother's kaiken hidden in her armor. When she's on horseback, she'll also have a yumi (Japanese longbow)sometimes, but she's not as good in kyujutsu as she is with her other forms of fighting. The name of her katana is Hogosha.
Powers: Light

Other information: Tenshiko's has the ability to solidify, and use, light as an offense or defense. She mostly uses it to reinforce her weapons and armor for both offense and defense. If need be, she can also use it as an attack or defense all by itself. However, she tries to be conservative with it. While she does gather the light from her surrounding, she needs to place some of her essence into the light to be able to control it, the more control or power she wants, the more essence she has to put in. Because it's easier to control when she uses light to reinforce something, less essence is needed. However, much more essence is needed when she is attacking with only light. Light manipulation is something passed down through the generations of the Shugosha family, so she isn't the only one who can do it. Albeit, only a few members can have the ability, so it is still pretty rare. Because it has been passed through the generations, there are records on the technique and just as many myths as facts. The technique was supposedly created about 500 years ago and reached it's zenith about 300 or so years ago. As with all such things, the dates are inexact and the stories are often exaggerated. Apparently, the zenith was reached when an ancestor managed to create "true light" to defeat some demon or other. This "true light" was created entirely from his essence without drawing at all from any of the light in the surroundings. Either that, or it was created entirely from natural light without using any essence to control it. How he did it really depends on where the story is being read from or who the is telling the story, but both ways are impossible according to theory. Actually, some accounts even call the ancestor a half-angel, while other say he was a shade. Still others insist that he was human…. Screw it! They probably don't even know if he was a he or a she! Either way, it really doesn't matter to Tenshiko as she simply views it as another myth in the long, glorious, boring history of her clan. Hey, who said that she needed to be interested in her clan's history in order to be loyal to it?

Katsumi relaxed on a nearby roof. He had to feed himself, but had no money for that. He stole to stay alive, and he'd been caught more than once. He was looking off into the distance, the entire town was having some kind of celebration. He saw the lights of boats on the water. "More people?" He asked himself leaping off the building.
