Everything seemed to be changing. It was very strange, growing up. She remembered very clearly a time when she had been confused about herself, blindly determined to be strong and doing whatever she felt she had to to get there.
Now, however, she felt... different.
She knew she was strong. More than that, she knew she was pretty. Her coat was a brilliant red, and she was very proud of that. Coupled with her strength, she imagined herself to be a good specimen of her pride. There was no hopeful worry, no doubt. She was just what she had wanted to be, growing up.
Now if only she could make Helios see that.
She often wondered over their rivalry these days. Really, she just used it as an excuse to think of him, in general. She wanted to go and find him, maybe challenge him to one more fight. After all, she knew his weakness now.
Chuckling to herself, she moved across the familiar sands to a rock she had once napped on with her sister. It was, obviously, a bit small for two lions now, but she still liked to go there on her own when she needed to think.

Azar was on her way to that exact spot. Her tail flicking around behind her, a grin on her lips. She was in a pretty good mood even thought a trouble of her own was on her mind. That rogue that was interested into joining the pride. She couldn't believe that she was thinking about this male so much! And that duel she had with him, she was so proud to have won however she couldn't believe what he said, it stuck in her mind more than one of those burrs that could get stuck in your paws that hurt so bad. Did he like her? Did she like him? She couldn't like him! She hated him! Didn't she?
She sighed as she started to shake her head. She needed to clear her mind, she nodded to get all of those ideas out of her mind. She needed to go some where quiet. She was on her way in that direction. She trotted happily as she did, despite her thoughts she was in a pretty good mood. She looked up and saw a bright red figure on her rock. Her favorite rock. She was about to get angry that some one had found her spot but then she realized who it was.
She really hadn't seen her sister Runya in a while. Since Azar had moved out of her family's den, the one that she had grown up in. She had her own den now. Not that far away from her parents but because of that she didn't get that much of a chance to see her sisters any more. She slunk down on the ground before she moved closer to her sister chuckling a bit as she did. She flicked her tail behind her before sprinting forward and pouncing on her sister. "Gotcha." She laughed slightly. "What are you up to?

Runya didn't hear Azar approaching, mostly because she was busy listening to a fly that was buzzing around her ears. She wanted to swat it away if it got close enough to her paws, but for now it was too far away for her to want to try and swing at it. She was sure she could get it, though, if she just... waited.
And she had the patience to do it. She'd been working on that. Still, it was taking a really freaking long time... or maybe she still had a little while to go.
Her ears flicked when she heard a bit of a laugh and she looked up in time to see Azar bounding toward her. Letting out a laugh of her own, Runya let her sister pounce on her, rolling and pawing at her.
"You only got me because I let you," she huffed, though it was feigned. She grinned, "I'm just sitting here, trying to think. You're here though. So I guess that's out of the question. What about you? What have you been up to?"

Azar grinned and laughed a little more as her sister started to paw at her. Even now that they were all full grown she still got along with all of her siblings pretty well. It was a good thing to know that her brothers and sister were still there when she wanted to spend some time with her. Having a big family was difficult at first, fighting for attention, but now that she looked back at it she was kind of glad to have a lot of siblings. She was glad to have her sister Runya and she was happy to spend some time with her
She rolled off of her sister before laughing a bit. "Yeah I know I gave myself away." She laughed a bit pawing at her sister's face gently before rolling off of the rock with a thud and sitting up smiling at her sister. "Nothing much myself. There is this rogue at the borders though. Daddy sent me to fight him. He's a pain in my a**." She huffed a bit as she did sitting further bad on her haunches, she made it sound like the worse thing ever, even though she wasn't that sure of her feelings about him. She looked at her sister. "He wants into the pride but I won the duel." She smirked a bit at the idea, she was feeling pretty proud about it.

Runya found herself purring as Azar moved away from her. She sat up, flicking her tail and looking at her sister with her head slightly tilted. She wrinkled her nose when Azar pawed at her. Huffing a bit, staving off a sneeze, she chuckled.
"A rogue, huh? That's interesting..." she wondered if this rogue was the same kind of a pain in the a** as Helios was. Why she found herself wondering that and smirking was strange. She shook her head.
"Congrats on winning! I mean, sucks to be him since he can't get in, but hey. A win's a win. That's pretty cool," she nodded. She liked when she heard about strength from within the pride, particularly from the female members. She wasn't exactly a 'feminist', if she were aware of the concept, but she did like it when girls showed boys who was boss.
That had just followed her from when she was cub.
"I'm sure you'll figure it all out. I mean... well. What do you think you'll do if he does manage to win a duel and join the pride? Like... ignore him or... want to see him?"

Azar always loved spending time with her siblings. And this time with her sister was something that she really needed. She needed the time to talk and spend time with some one. She purred quietly and started to stretch out really starting to make herself comfortable. She chuckled slightly before nodding toward her. "Yeah a rogue." She stretched out a little more before glancing at her sister again. "I met him before he was a jerk then too." She huffed crossing her legs in front of her.
"It sure is a awesome win." She laughed before looking at her sister with an excited face. "It's healing but if you noticed he got my ear pretty good." She made a small face at the idea but then shrugged. "Oh well things like that happen." She looked at her before sighing at her question.
She really wasn't that sure of what she was going to do if he got into the pride. Sure she could ignore him him, she really knew that but she wasn't sure if she WANTED to ignore him. She looked at her sister. "I'm... Not that sure." She smirked. "I mean I'd love to see him and kick his butt again. leave a bit on his ear." She flicked her tail behind her before realizing that she was smiling. She quickly pulled her face into a slightly annoyed look. "But he'll probably drive me crazy.

Runya chuckled. She imagined it had been an awesome win. Any time they could beat their rivals, or jerk males in any venue, was awesome. Sisters standing up for themselves and all that. She wasn't gung ho about it, but she couldn't help but feel pride when her female counter parts triumphed over males.
It just reminded her of the cool times when she was able to best Helios.
"Aw," she said, noting her sister's ear, "well, at least you got him in the end. I guess it's bound to happen in a fight." She nodded.
Runya laughed. "I know that feeling. I think you're in the same kind of trouble I am. An annoying boy, who drives you crazy... but you still manage to keep company with... or want to." She sighed. She couldn't really deny that Helios was always on her mind.
Particularly because she was thinking about him again. Right then.

Azar was very happy that her sister could understand her feeling the same way that she did when it came down to winning against those stupid males! She didn't need a male; she just needed her daddy and her brothers because thats how family was right? Oh and of course a few of her friends. She puffed out her chest out the idea before stopping it realizing that she was doing it she stopped before looking down at her paws. But then giggling a bit. "you're right I most likely would have got it some how." She puffed out her chest once more. "But I'll wear it proudly and laugh at him every time I think of it even when he isn't around." She smirked a bit, she really hadn't enjoyed talking to some one like this in a while she was so busy with her practice and her job.
She sighed herself before nodding toward her sister. "It seems like we are in the same place." She scooted closer to her sister then leaned against her a bit then sighed putting a little of her weight into her leaning. "Well... I guess we need to figure out something." She laughed before smiling at her sister slightly.

Runya watched her sister, smiling fondly. She understood that things were more complicated than they seemed. But it wasn't going to be Runya that told her sister that. She shook her head. Feelings were complicated, and even when one thought they knew what they felt.
Those tricky feelings had a way of being something else entirely.
She leaned back toward Azar as the other settled near her. She smiled, shaking her head.
"I guess so," she sighed, thinking about Helios. It was easy to get distracted.

Azar's thoughts started to take over too not really that sure of what to think. The main thing that she could think of at the moment was that she didn't know what to think or to do. But she was glad to have her sister there that also understood. she laughed for a moment before she stood up and bounded a few steps away then swiped at her sister with a smirk on her face then smirked. "Up for a race?" She asked, she still was pretty playful at times when she wanted to be. She hoped that her sister was the same.

"Hey!" Runya looked up in surprise when her sister batted at her. She grinned, getting to her feet. Shaking sand from her fur leisurely, she scoffed.
"A race? That's kind of childish, don't you think? Anyway, I don't think you could beat me," she swished her tail, moving closer to Azar to nudge her with her shoulder. Which then turned into a shove.
"Plus, you'll have to catch up to me first, if you want to have a chance!"
She took off running, heading for a plant she saw in the distance. Since Azar hadn't put any rules down, Runya decided to make her own. She laughed as she ran, focusing on her goal.

Azar looked at her sister before laughing and pawing at her again. "Of course it's not a kid game!" She laughed before looking at her sister and snorting shaking her head a bit. "I'm pretty sure you can't." she winked before looking at the area they were going to be going then looked at her sister. "Come onnnn" She then blinked as her sister took off catching her off guard. "HEYHEY!" she shouted before she started to run after her sister growling a bit as she did, playfully though. "That wasn't fair!" She laughed a bit as she ran.

"All's fair in these kinds of games! Since there are no rules!" She called back, keeping her eyes on the sands in front of her. She raced toward that plant, as fast as her long legs could take her. Which was actually pretty fast, considering all that training she had done to prove Helios wrong.
Of course, Azar had been no slouch.
Runya kept running, skidding around the plant and ducking behind it, as if to use it as shelter.
"I dare you to come get me!"She growled challengingly, swishing her tail.

Azar laughed at her sister, if she was younger she would be arguing over the idea that there was no rules in the games. But now she knew it was just a game, that was all to it. She giggled at her sister thinking a bit as she did. She was keeping up pretty well with her sister, her herself having her own training, mostly for different reasons however she was still pretty built and ready for anything that was coming her way.
She looked at the other lioness and laughed as she watched her hide behind the plant. She grinned before reaching out a paw and swiping at her a few times the smirk large and growing on her face.

Runya grinned, her eyes flashing. They were bigger now, so play could get a bit rougher. She leapt from behind the plant, tackling Azar down and scuffling with her. She forced them into a roll, then rolled away from her, stopping on her back.
She laughed, shaking her head.
"That was more dizzying than I had intended," she said, shutting her eyes and staying put for a moment. She was a full grown adult, she told herself, shaking her inner head, this kind of behavior was not fitting.
Still, it was fun.
