It was the end of the day, the sun was starting to set and Azar had no clue what to do with herself at the moment. She loved to have something to do at all time. She was a workaholic and well when there was times where she couldn't do anything she had no clue what she did with herself. She sighed slightly before she decided it was time to start wandering home. She was older now and found a place not that far away from her parents den which she thought was nice, she still loved her family and one thing was for sure she didn't want to get that far away from her parents or for that case her family in general.
But even though she wasn't living that far away from her family she felt like she hadn't been able to spend any time with them. She was starting to feel a little lonely. But then there was the male that was trying to join the pride. She couldn't take her mind off of him. She didn't like him... Or did she. She wasn't even that sure how she felt anymore. She felt like her sister thinking about that male all the time. She didn't know what to do with herself. She sighed slightly before pausing where she was. She could do something, watching the sun go down sounded pretty good. She flopped down on the ground in the sand looking up at the sky.

She frowned as Itzcoatl shifted his coils around her head and neck, partially blocking her view of the last of the fading light. "Dear one, why must you insist on disturbing what little tranquillity life offers?" She threw up her head, upsetting the ebony snake and laughing as he hissed in irritation. "And don't pretend to be annoyed. You could never get angry at me, could you, love?"
She extended a paw and he slithered back into place around her neck, more comfortably this time. "There we go. Better?""Much." He hissed, opening a single eye to gaze out across the darkening desert. "Who isss that cat out there, Fia? A sssissster? Yesss, a sssissster, I'd recognize the ssscent anywhere. Will you ssspeak with her?""If you wish me, too." She gave a little shrug and moved over to the shape of her sister. She seemed...troubled, perhaps? Or...maybe she was just tired. Fia wasn't one to trouble herself over things much, especially males. Males were...well, she didn't believe in love. Not really.
"Well, hello there, sister dear? A little late to be cloud-watching, isn't it?"

Azar was pretty pulled into her thoughts, she didn't even hear her sister coming. Or in that case smell her sister coming. She started to stretch out a bit before she heard a voice. She jumped before turning around to a point preparing to strike, she wasn't always friendly when she was surprised. It took her a second before she realized it was in fact her sister. "Oh! Hello there Fia." She relaxed and smiled at her nodding a bit. "Sorry about that you surprised me." She was more than sure that her sister noticed her defensive stance.
"It's not that bad watching them around this time. You can catch the sun setting too." She looked at her sister carefully noticing the snake around her neck, it almost blended into her coat. "Who are you?" she asked quietly with a smile on her face, she remembered seeing her sister once or twice but one thing was for sure that she didn't really no it's name. "What have you been up to sister?" She looked up and nodded at her sister. She really didn't like not being able to see her siblings that often, so seeing them in moments like this made her feel pretty good.

If Fia was annoyed or startled by her sister's reaction, there was no sign. She was pretty sure she'd have reacted in the same way if she'd been disturbed. On second thoughts, perhaps it wasn't such a great idea to come and speak with her dark-pelted sister, now. She was pretty sure she'd want to be left alone if she'd been lost in thought.
Oh well...too late now...
As her sister seemed to brighten, Fia took the opportunity to sit, enjoying the comfortable warmth of the setting sun on her pelt.
"I am quite the surprising sort, or so I'm told." She chuckled. "You looked somewhat lonely so I thought I'd drop in to see if I could offer some words of useless advice." She smiled again and blinked her mismatched eyes, pausing to let the snake answer for himself.
"My name isss Itzcoatl, the Obsssidian Ssserpent. I am your sssisster'sss advisssor and friend." The green eyes of the snake were bright and inquisitive, and they moved across Azar's markings with an eager thirst.
He was a superstitious creature and he thought there were meanings to be found in everything - particularly the markings on the pelts of lions. Fia's markings were the reason he had chosen to become her advisor. He both dreaded and adored the possibilities behind the blood red streaks on her face.
"What have I been up to? A little bit of this. A little bit of that." She gave a small shrug. "Nothing of much notable value, to be sure. Although, I have set myself the task of finding our brother, Xipil, a girlfriend - though that is something he is not yet aware of."
She grinned at the thought of it. "The boy is too work orientated. He needs some fun and as much as I despise the thought of settling with a mate, I think he needs it. I need only myself to bring light into my life, but Xipil...he has nothing but his job. A sad existence if you ask me."

Azar smiled slightly at her sister. "You and Zii both are." She laughed quietly at the idea. there was many times where her white sister would sneak up on her. But she didn't really know that Fia was the same way. Azar didn't spend that much time with her in a long time now that she thought about it. There were times when they were little cubs but other wise there wasn't that many times. She really thought she should get to spend a little more time with her... She looked down at her paws before letting out a nervous laugh and a small nod. "Yeah I've been a little lonely." It wasn't something that she could deny. "It's been so different not living in the den with everyone. She chuckled then shook her head. "No words of advice are useless. My teacher used to tell me that."
She looked at the snake before nodding toward him. "It is nice to meet you Itzcoatl. I'm glad to see some one keeping an eye on Fia." She winked at him before looking back up at her sister with a friendly smile. "Finding Xipil a girlfriend?" She chuckled a bit before grinning at her sister. "If you ever need any help I might help you." She then paused at what her sister way saying. Sure she had her family other than her job but now that she thought about it recently that was it for herself. "Well... It's not that bad." Her voice trailed slightly before looking down at her paws. "It really isn't." She said quickly before looking up at her sister and smiling a bit. "I'm more than sure that he would be happy with it."

She nodded thoughtfully, realising how long ago it seemed that they were all together under the same roof. When had they all grown up? Were Mother and Father lonely without them? Or were they enjoying their peace and quiet? She wondered how long it would be before they had little brothers and sisters to take care of, or whether their one litter had been enough to put off Kidondo and No for life.
She grinned, thinking back to the antics she and Ea indulged in. Antics that they weren't about to let lie - even in adulthood!
"Wait until you've heard my advice before you go listening to that teacher of yours." Fia grinned, amusing herself greatly.
"Xipil will thank me for it, I'm sure." A pause. "And what does this mean, sister? Have you found yourself a mate, also?" Fia shook her head in bewilderment. Was she the only one planning not to settle with another...ever?! She wondered whether she would be thought of as some mad old spinster and laughed at the image of it. "So who is he then, Azar? You have to tell me now!"
Itzcoatl was not listening to their idle chatter. He cared little for matters of the heart - a trait he shared with his bonded. However, his eyes were fixed on the wing markings upon Azar's back.
He was itching to ask her about the mark, but would not ask until an opportune moment arose.

Azar giggled a bit at her sister and shook her head. "No advice is ever bad advice. You probably have something to teach me that I could never think was coming." She giggled and winked at her sister. "Don't let yourself thingk that you have bad advice. You have to have something going on in your mind if you are finding a mate for one of our siblings." She laughed light heartedly and sat up a little more. She thought that was a pretty good point. You couldn't help some one if you didn't have good advice, even if it was just with finding someone a mate.
"I'm also more than sure that he will thank you for it." She pawed at her gently before pausing herself she could feel some heat rushing to her cheeks. She was thankful for her dark coat, able to hide her embarrassment. "Oh no!" She shook her head and looked down at her paws. "No, no I was saying just having a job isn't that bad." She laughed nervously again before huffing slightly. "The only male that isn't family in my life is this one a*****e rogue." She sounded really annoyed as she spoke about him. She couldn't help it. "He wants to join the pride but I beat him in the duel. She smirked laughing once more. "he said something to me that just jumbled up my head. I think he likes me. But he's such a... Argh. She's a jerk." she nodded, then again she wasn't exactly the nicest to him either.

"Very well. I'll let you be the judge of my words, Azar dear." She blinked her mismatched eyes and grinned as Azar pawed at her. "Well that waits to be seen. In any case, I'll have much amusement in finding him a suitable female."
Though there were few females that weren't already related to their bloodline in some way...despite the fact that rogue blood was slowly trickling in from the outside. Pickings were still slim...or so it seemed. She'd just have to keep an eye out and pounce on the first fine, single female she set her eyes on.
"Oh! Well, no, you're right. Having a job isn't bad, so long as the job isn't your whole life." She shrugged a little. "Or that's my opinion on the matter, anyway."
An ear lifted as Azar spoke of one of those rogues seeking solace amongst the sand-dwellers. So, one had caught her interest? Or...not? Fia did not understand the ways of the heart. "Well of course you beat him. He clearly underestimated a female's strengths. I don't enjoy fighting, myself, but I'm proud to have a sister who can show the outsiders what a Firekin female can do." She purred lightly and nudged against her sibling gently. "I hope you gave him a good cuffing." She blinked both eyes slowly. "We have to show those outsiders that its no easy thing winning a place amongst us. They have to work for the right just as much as anyone does."
Her whiskers lifted. "So, when this rogue comes back, make sure you beat him again. Beat him until he learns to respect you. You and all of the pride." Her eyes danced. "Better yet, invite me along next time so I can jeer. That sounds like fun."

Azar nodded toward her sister and then nodded happily. "From what I can tell my sister, well from what I know. Your words are just as valuable, well just as important and meaningful as anyone else in the pride. You are a firekin and just as smart and wise as you are strong and you are pretty strong." She nodded before smiling at her sister. "It must really be something else to find some one in this pride. So many are related to us." She knew that fact for sure it was hard to find a few lions in the pride that really weren't related to them in the pride. When she looked at it They had a huge family.
"Well... He has family too... That counts right?" She laughed nervously again. When she looked at it that was most of what she had. She had a few friends like Iroh but recently she hadn't seen him in a while. Did she have anything other than her family and job? Oh god she wasn't even that sure herself, now she had something else on her mind.
"Oh I showed him." She smirked before sitting back on her haunches a little more grinning at her a little more. "I kick his butt! He will really regret next time." She smirked flicking her tail around. "Daddy asked me to do it last time and I'm gonna ask him If I can fight again." She was close to wiggling around in excitement. It felt good to beat some one. "Of course I'll beat him again." She puffed out her chest, her marking on her chest sticking out a little more. But then again she just didn't hate him. "I... just really don't know if I hate him and if he really is a jerk... or if I like him..." She coughed quietly.

Fia shrugged. She supposed it didn't matter whether her advice was good or bad so long as it was appreciated. She had decided long ago that she was not on this land for advice. She was meant to record things. To protect the past and guard it to the best of her abilities.
"Well since you won, Father must have known what her was doing. I expect he's very proud of you indeed, dear sister, you having won and all."
She eyed her sister then and, with a quiet sigh, got to her paws and began to move away. "I guess you'll figure it out in the end. Those matters...I can't help you with. Come, Itz, let's get going."
"But...but I had sssomething to asssk the winged-one." The snake insisted, his head bobbing up and down. "Don't make sssuch hassste."

Azar was a little caught off guard of how quickly her sister was already walking away. She could feel her temper start to flare up. She felt like she could talk to almost all of her siblings, well at least her sisters except for Fia. She sighed slightly herself keeping her cool. "Alright Fia. See you later." she was about to get up herself before she heard the snake say something. Or hiss something she wasn't that sure of what it was. She had a curious look on her face as she glanced toward the snake. "What?" She asked curiously shifting herself

With a shrug, Fia moved on, trusting that the snake would catch up when he was done with his prattling, asking questions on his superstitious knowledge, no doubt. What he found so interesting in the pelts of lions, she had no idea. To her, markings either made one pretty or they made one ugly. What was more important than that?
“Your markingsss.” The serpent continued. “The one on your back. Where doesss it come from? Not your Mother. Not your Father. Then who?” He blinked his vibrant green eyes curiously and slithered closer, his tongue licking at the air.
“A curiousss mark indeed it isss.”

Azar nodded to the snake, she knew that she had her wing markings and she knew for a fact that she didn't see them in her parents, she really hadn't seen that many more of her relatives but a few of her siblings also had wings. She had no clue where they came from herself. She chuckled a bit at the snake before shrugging. "It is curious." She smiled softly before shrugging once more. "I'm not that sure where it comes from. Maybe you should ask daddy about it, even mom. One of them should know.."

The snake's head bobbed curiously and, with a short, sharp nod he replied. "Curiousss, yesss. Perhapsss I will asssk your mother when next I sssee her. Thank you, Azar."
He bowed his head as he prepared to take his leave and then turned and headed off after Fia, moving swiftly across the sand that allowed such easy movement for one without feet.
The wings, what an odd mark. He could not help but wonder...how had wings passed on to a lion.
