Okay...it's still several hours away, but still, wanted to wish everyone New Year's greetings because I don't know how much I'll be on tomorrow. Hope everyone has a happy and safe 2010. Don't forget to eat black eyed peas tomorrow for good fortune. mrgreen

It's a tradition from the southeastern states. Eating black eyed peas on New Year's Day is supposed to bring you good luck and prosperity. 3nodding

To keep better track of my finances and to go through a lot of old papers that I had at my former apartment to see what I really need to keep at my new house. In order words, to get better organized. Also, my never-ending resolution is to be nicer to people this year than the year before.

Resolution: Finally pay off most of my student loans. gonk I've only got 13k more in principle to pay off out of the 40k I originally took out in loans.

Traditionally, you boil them in a pot with ham. Often times people will put ketchup on them to add a different flavor, but the "old-school" black eyed pea eaters frown on that practice. xd

It was lovely. And the parade is GREAT! Though bring some bleach wipes and kleenex if you think you might need to use the portapotties.
