Night time seemed to be the only time this female could have time to herself. Not that she really wanted to be alone, but it was overwhelming raising this many cubs on her own. Other Banu from Sultan Aali's harem came over to help her from time to time, but she couldn't rely on them. What needed to happen was her Pad needed to go find another female. Another mother for the cubs.
Molemogi heard the whispers around the pride about the Pad with one Beybanu. It was worrying a few other Pads and the Sultan. Aali had mentioned something to her about how it wasn't right he only had one. Mollie was seriously thinking about telling him to go capture a female. She needed the help. The den was getting smaller as the cubs grew, and her nerves were fried.
She sat outside the den, looking at the clouded night sky with a huge frown on her face. She was tired, wanted to sleep, but something prevented her from doing so. Her mind was going a mile a minute and showed no sign of stopping until she got some of this out in the open. She prayed her Pad would wake up before the cubs rose. It had to be tonight to talk to him.

Vu shivered in the darkness of the family den and blinked open his eyes, discovering the warmth missing from his side. This was not the first time he woke to find Mollie gone. At first it frightened him. He always felt better when he found her sitting outside their den under the stars, never more than a few yards out of reach. As he walked outside to greet her he stretched and let out a yawn. He rubbed up against her side, nuzzling her cheek. "I was having the most wonderful dream," he rumbled warmly.
When he noticed the look on her face his ears turned back in concern. He sat down beside her, a bit apprehensive. He had a feeling he knew what this was about. "Is everything alright?"

She looked over to her Pad as he nuzzled up against her and gave couldn't even smile at him. The rumble when he spoke sent warm shivers through her body and vibrated in her heart. That is how she knew she was in love; everything he did made her feel better when she was upset. Most of the time. When Vu noticed something wrong with her, Molemogi tipped her ears back again. "...No... It's not, Vu." Her voice summed up everything. She was tired. Tired of running around with three girls and one boy. She knew normal couples didn't have this much trouble with their litters, but she wasn't quite an adult yet. She, herself, was only a child by many standards and raising this many cubs while he was on guard.
"We need another Banu, Vu... As much as.." She was uncomfortable with it, "I need help. Sultan Aali said he'd send some of his Banu over to help, and they've been a huge help. They really have. But we need another addition to the family."

Immediately Vu thought of Fila. A strong female like her would make an excellent banu. From her boasting, Vu learned that Fila was an excellent huntress and warrior. The latter fact made him hesitant to bring her into the pride. If she set her mind to rebellion he would have to break her hard, and breaking a strong female such as Fila did not sound appealing to him in the least. If becoming a father had softened him, Vu didn't care.
He sighed, "You're right, of course. The Sultan has been an amazing friend to us ever since we got here but we can't depend on him forever."
Better not to mention Fila. She promised to see him again soon, but he didn't want to get Mollie's hopes up.

She relaxed. How could she not when Vu already knew of the problem? If he knew, then he probably had a plan. That was the Vu Mollie knew and actually part of the reason she fell for him; he always seemed to have some kind of plan. Which, in her opinion, made him mentally strong. She already knew he was physically strong. Thinking about that made her look at the scars on his muzzle and his back. All of that, for her. All of that because Mollie wasn't a strong lioness.
Not letting the depression she felt welling up inside of her show on her face, she sighed softly. ".......Capture a female. Afsar... said she has Seen you capture one. She didn't say when, or a name to go along with it, but... Her visions usually are right." Usually, because they have changed before.
It hurt to admit she needed help raising four cubs by herself. It made her feel like she couldn't do anything by herself, but maybe this was a truth she needed to come around and face. Maybe she needed to feel this anger and depression. Maybe it would make her stronger. Maybe. She was beginning to hate that word.

Vu raised his eyebrows and looked at her. He had spoken to a female outside the pride already. Mollie would remember that day, the day he came home with bloody ears and two plump vultures for the cubs to dine on. He told her a story about how he saw the vultures gathered around a carcass and thought there might be something left to fill their cub's tummies, but there was only bone and the vultures that died trying to defend their meal had more meat on them. He hadn't told her about the female. He was still struggling with himself, with how to handle that.
Fila was a strong lioness, a true warrior. It felt wrong to want to capture her. Besides, even though Vu taught his daughters self-defense, for even in a pride where females are subservient to males there are times when a banu can benefit from self-defense, he knew that bringing an experienced warrior female into this pride could be dangerous. Vu never wanted to beat a female into submission. He knew that day might come, but he wanted to avoid it for as long as possible.
"What did Afsar say this female looked like?" he asked, keeping his thoughts to himself. He didn't want to get Mollie's hopes up.

What did the other lioness look like? "Something about a swirl pattern to her fur. Nothing more. She said her vision wasn't that clear. She's just started," Mollie said sternly, firmly believing that. The dark lioness looked to her Pad and gave him a gentle smile. "You need to talk to Ilyas, as well. Harb has brought me stories of vision of her becoming his Beybanu."
That would probably brighten up this conversation a little bit. At least, she hoped it did.

Harb also had visions of Zarha being abused by her future pad. Vu sought to prevent that. He believed that visions of the future could be changed, but this was good news he hoped would stay the same. He smiled at Mollie. "That's wonderful news. They're growing up so fast. Will they be happy together?"

"From what I've heard from his mother, they'll be very happy. Ilyas' father is in a good position among the pride," she said, nodding. It would be a match Vu would be happy about. Giving up his eldest girl to a male couldn't be easy for him. It was for her, but that was because she understood Afsar liked Ilyas. Looking to her Pad, Mollie moved up and nuzzled under his chin, sighing softly.
"You've found us a good home, made me the mother of wonderful cubs.. But just find one more Banu and I couldn't ask for anything more." It was true. Well, she could, but she wouldn't.

Vu nuzzled her, chest vibrating with purr that shook the earth. "I'm glad you're happy, too. This isn't how I pictured myself when I was a kid, but I'm happy here all the same.
