He had no idea why he was within these lands. After all, Silos had never been a fan of the arid desert, even if Rokopeli seemed to favor it - lord only knew why... there was annoying sand, sand storms, horrid wind, not to mention the blasted heat.

Youth had swiftly decided he would have much rather been at the beach, thank you very much. Alas, he went where he felt like going, and for some odd reason his wings (and later, paws) had carried him well into the desert wasteland. Had he known just how near he was to the Firekin pride, Silos would have possibly swung by, just to ruffle some feathers and watch the commotion his mere presence there would cause (after all, he was a god, and news traveled fast when one had wings - he'd heard about the pride, and about how Change had lost control of her 'children', whom now chose to go against their traditional beliefs).

He was all for childish acts of rebellion, granted (it sort of came with his domain), but he was, at the same time a big fan of pranks, jokes causing a commotion in general. Still, he had no idea of the pride's nearby location, and as it was, he was grumpy and confused as to why he had come here in the first place. Did someone need him nearby? Or was he just as fickle as a house cat?

Padding the sand slowly, he chose not to answer his own question, for he was sure he wouldn't like the answer.

It wasn't really much of a surprise that Jiryan was taking a bit of alone time to go hunting, travelling to the far reaches of his new home and away from the mass of brutal lions that kept him company on a day-to-day basis. Jiryan was glad of his new life and family, his mate and even companions from time-to-time. Yet, when it came down to it, Jiryan had grown up in a much more laid back pride with lions that were no where near as cut throat as some of his new peers. A little break now and then did his heart good.

Today, however, his heart was about to do a series of backflips as he stared across the sands. He knew the heat and unchanging horizon could play tricks on the eyes but he somehow doubted that even his mind would be capable of conjuring what he was sure he was staring at. A god, near the Firekin of all places.

Knowing the uproar it would cause if it got close to the pride, Jiryan once more took the pride's well being onto his shoulders. When had he become so concerned with such things? He barreled as quickly as he could across the sands, feet beating out a silent pace on the dunes beneath him. It was only as he neared the other that he realized he had.. absolutely no idea what he was doing. What if it was aggressive? Not for the first time, he wished he had Kenna's wisdom to guide him.

"You there!" he called out, trying not to grimace at himself for the unintelligible greeting. He came to a stop, trying his best to look tall next to the larger figure of the god. "Uh, what are you doing out here?" Right, he needed to figure out how to sound more intelligent.

"Blahhhh," he grumped to his surroundings, "I really hate the desert! Stupid place, stupid sand, stupid wind!" he was sure that the only being able to hear him ramble was the lizard that looked up at him warily from a nearby rock. His surprise, was thus, rather magnificent when Jiryan's voice cut through the heat of the day.

The god actually jumped a bit, turning around to face the approaching lion. A frown came across his features and the god seemed to prepare himself for an attack (technically he was preparing himself to receive an attack - it was darkly amusing how many times he found himself at the wrong end of someone's claws, and yet he'd never paused to think if perhaps it had something to do with his attitude). When the question came, the god arched a brow, though it was more a gesture to indicate he had... not been expecting a conversation, but rather, a fight, "Uhhhh... I have no bloody clue - you tell me," he said warily, "I kinda go where I'm tugged towards, and my feet decided this morning this was the place we'd visit - lord only knows why. I really hate the sand, it's stupid and it's getting in my eyes. Also, the heat here in unbearable, how the hell do you survive here?"

It felt a lot better to ramble at a lion than it did at a lizard, however, he figured he'd introduce himself, "I'm Silos, keeper of Youth. Why the ******** am I here anyhow? There's not a lion for mi-" and he paused, his mouth forming a small 'o' shape when he added two and two in his mind, "Red lion, desert... oh heyyyyyyy you're one of Finar-si's kids, ain't yah? Heard you rebelled and stuff. Good for you."

First impression - this god was really, really odd. Then again, Jiryan had no idea whether or not all gods acted this way (being that he had never met one before) so as far as he was aware this could really just be natural behavior. Whatever the case, he immediately felt less threatened and relaxed, though he did keep his distance. In his travels, he had heard tell of tricky gods more than once.

"I, uh, sort of," he said with a small frown, his tail whipping behind him. "I'm Jiryan, I hail from the Pridelands originally, though Finar-si is in my blood." He'd heard enough babble from Kenna to know who Finar-si was a hundred times over. He could no longer hold to the Pridelander beliefs, not with a god staring him straight in the face, and if said god was telling him that Finar-si existed then, well, he knew too that the rebels were false in their ideas. Not that he would ever question Kenna, of course. Never. Don't tell her that.

"I'm not one of the ones that rebelled, by any means, either. That happened long before I came to these lands." He shrugged a little and squinted a little as he tried to stare up at the rather oddly colored god. What in the world were all those things he was wearing? "As for why you're here, I haven't got a clue. But," he paused, shifting his paws in the sands, "if you could just not go anywhere near the pride I'd really appreciate that."

Well, it seemed like the rumors were true after all! He hadn't really paid much mind to this pride (after all, this had been Finar-si's playground, what the ******** ever), so it all came as new and exciting to him, "Sort of, huh?" he sniffed the air, moving his head, so his mane partially obscured one horn and revealed his broken one; it was almost as if he'd lost it headbutting someone to death. Then again, knowing Silos, it was more probable he'd tripped and fallen while trying something risky, or that he'd somehow managed to break it while dancing.

"Not been near pridelands in a long time. I go there from time to time though - they don't mind the brown pelt. Not like here, you see. They want reds and blacks and whites. Ain't got much of that," he didn't feel the need to vanish his wings, and thus, they remain in plain sight even as Jiryan spoke, "Oh? Why not? You think it'd cause a commotion? I love commotions... might be fun! I'd like to see one of those huge lions reduced to the form of a cub. That'd be funny."

It was hard to figure out if the god was being serious, or simply joking around.
