Did Kenshin go Battousai after Enishi beat him...

...in the fight at the Kamiya Dojo? The Mitsurugi secret failed and Enishi beat Kenshin. Then when Kenshin saw that Enishi was targeting Kaoru, he suddenly jumped up and startled whaling on Enishi, eyes blazing, teeth gritted and the "sessha" replaced with "ore".

A friend thinks Kenshin reverted to his Battousai mindset after the failure of the Amakakeru. I don't believe he did because Kenshin rid himself of that problem after he mastered the secret.

Who's right, she or I?

The first time when Kenshin lost, he didn't have the answer to his question of how to repent for the lives he had taken. So when Kauru was "Killed", it broke him. Kenshin doesn't hurt Enishi then, but breaks down and leaves. When he faces Enishi at the mansion, he had found his answer.

I'm talking about right after Kenshin and Enishi clashed with their secret moves and Enishi slashed Kenshin across the chest, then started to go after Kaoru. Kenshin got to his feet and started whaling on Enishi.

His manner of speech changed "sessha" to "ore" and he practically offered himself over to Enishi's wrath. "If you still want to take revenge, I will deliver myself into your hands."

Then no, he was just angry, at Enishi, he would have killed Enishi immediately if he was Battousai, but he stilled mentioned accepting his punishment, if he were Battousai, he wouldn't be worrying over a punishment from somebody he was about to kill.
