In the opposite direction, it was kind of awkward when my mom thought I was a lesbian. Well, more like when my mom, grandparents, and other various close family thought I was a lesbian.
I'm pretty sure some of them are still not convinced that I'm straight.

Are they of that mindset that women don't wear pants and if you're not into cooking and sewing and raisin babies you're probably a lesbian? sad
I personally like it when women take charge and are strong and independent and stuffs. 3nodding 'Course, everybody needs somebody sometime... Dangit, there goes that song in my head again!
That, AND the fact that I've never let them know when I'm seeing/am interested in anyone, or even the least bit attracted to anyone.
And they're more in the mindset that I should be married by now.

My family is similar... they kept asking me if I had finally found myself a girl... until I verbally slapped them...

when i streaked lol the act itself wasn't awkward but when i found out our neighbours had saw and told my mother... that's a whole other level of awkward

When my mom found out I was a furry.
You know how everyone says that "coming out" as a furry is stupid because it's no big deal? Trust me, my mom MADE it a big deal.

My dad probably doesn't know enough about furries to consider me one unless I start pawing through the garbage while wearing a fursuit.
My mom knows enough about furries to not care what I do so long as I don't act like the furry aspect makes it more important than the non-furry equivalent.
And she knows juuust enough about the "dark side" of the furry fandom that I can heckle her. xd
