Since his siblings were just as fight happy as he was he had taken a bit of time to get away with them. It was no use arguing with them all the time since it really got no one anywhere. Most of it was pointless and he really wasn't worried about fighting any of them for a 'rank' in the family. They could all kiss his a**, cept mom, she was still cool.
Shaking his head he wandered away from where his family stayed most of the time and toward what he hoped would be somewhere quiet. Maybe he could get some thinking done. Maybe he could figure out how he could convince his mom that the choice she'd made regarding the pride wasn't the right one.
He still figured it would be better for everyone if they hadn't let the rogues on. The ones with Blood were -sorta- okay but the ones that weren't ... there was no point in them. They were weak and useless and didn't belong here.
Snarling he sat down near a small sand dune and grumbled to himself. He couldn't even walk to anyone about it since they all seemed to think that this was better for them somehow.

Bastet had grown in to a lean lioness. She was built like a proper firekin and she held her head up high. It was only recently she learnt the truth about her mother, though she had no proof other then the dreams. Dreams of a red goddess, the one that the pride wished to forget about. Bastet was her daughter and so was Kidondo. Oh yes she had known they were related, shared the same mother but now she knew the truth. Her half brother was completely insane.
Bastet hadn't forgotten the plans she had made with one of Kenna's kids when she was younger. The cubs however hadn't worked. When she was younger she was just looked down on and now she was older she wanted to get on it. Of course she couldn't stand the fluffy cubs. They were pathetic, completely and utterly pathetic. She had been meaning to find a cub or two recently and try to teach them but she hadn't the time. She had been training and hunting. She waned to be the best and she had to be if she was going to find a way to change this pride around. This was her mothers pride.

"The whole thing is pathetic." He snarled to himself as he stared off into the sand dunes. They needed their fire back, their blood, the old ways. Sitting around like this just letting anyone wander in was pathetic. Even his family seemed happy with this and he didn't understand why. His mother should have known better.
"At least there is someone who's not pathetic." Though he hadn't seen her in a while. He'd been too busy training how to be a hunter to really do anything else. Plus she was probably busy with her own things. She would be training for something too right?

She had been training as a soldier though to she wasn't paying too much attention to it. She spent more time watching the pride members, working out which would be the easiest to get her claws in to. Today she had taken a break and gone for a walk, she wanted to just get free and think. Half of her wanted to go and tell her half brother who he was, let him know that he had said his own mother didn't exist.
As she moved over the dunes she spotted a red body on the next dune. She didn't want to see anyone right now but then again she wouldn't miss a chance to start a fight. She rather liked the idea of starting fights. She would happily attack, if only they were allowed to kill, that would help rid some of the vermin in the pride.
She kept her eyes on the body as she moved closer to him and as recognition hit she smirked.
"Just the lion I wanted to see...."

One ear twitched and his body tensed as his head swung around. He hadn't expected anyone else to be out here, he'd come out here for that reason, and did not need to be caught doing things that were technically against the rules. If anyone caught him talking to himself ...
"....Bastet" He had not thought he would see the female he'd been thinking of moments before. It was interesting to see her closer to his own size. She looked like she had the power behind her to back her claims of taking back the rightful ways of the pride. "A reason you were looking for me?" He smirked slightly as he turned to face her fully.

"I wasn't looking for you... but if I were to see any lion out here I would rather it be you then any of the other vermin that pollutes these deserts." She kept her voice low knowing that most of what would pass between the two would be enough to get them kicked out. Maybe it was a good thing that the two had met each other so far from the prides dens.
"You have grown somewhat." She looked over his large body and smiled. He was a fighter, they all were but his body showed it and she liked it. He was the only lion in this desert that she could put up with in fact she even enjoyed his company. They thought the same way.
"Fancy a walk?" She wanted to head towards the borders, they were less likely to be caught discussing illegal things nearer the borders. After all this pride was so slack now rogues seemed to walk freely among them.

"You did say i was just the one you wanted to see." He smirked as he remarked on her comment. Even if she hadn't -really- been looking for him it was nice to know that she enjoyed his company over that of the others. It was hard to enjoy their company when they'd let everything become so polluted.
"A walk would be nice. It isn't as if they really guard the borders anymore." Too many rogues were still allowed to waltz right in and make themselves at home for it to really be guarded. "Training i think, i've filled out a bit more." He'd always been larger than her but the size difference was starting to show a bit more now. "Just because some don't take things seriously anymore does not mean i'm going to slack on keeping myself strong." He had a bloodline to uphold and blood to be proud of.

Bastet just rolled her eyes, she knew what she had said but she hadn't quite mentioned it like that. To be fair she had missed his company, it was nice to just spend time with him.
"They do guard the borders... they just don't stop anyone coming in." Which of course was stupid. Why have guards if they don't do any guarding? Bastet was half tempted sometimes to find those loyal to her mother and take them away again. They would test rogues who wanted to join, they would test them good and anyone who seemed weak would be killed or exiled. Oh how she dreamed of that day... she hoped though that would be this pride. She knew they were walking a thin line though, she knew her half-brother and his mate would throw them out if they even knew any of the plans they had.
"Ah yes training." She had trained hard as well but all they wanted her to do was be a huntress, did she look like a huntress? Oh if only they knew who she was!
"I have trained on my own. They want me to hunt... just hunt. What idiots." She snarled as she spoke and her fur bristled with anger. "Oh how I wish I could tear them apart already. I am sick of it, sick of how nice they all are. I wish my mother would come back and sort it all out. They couldn't deny her if she turned up in front of them." She flicked her tail behind her before turning her red eyes to the lion she walked beside.
"Do you think we will be able to sort this pride out? Make it glorious again?" She hoped he believed they could but the young were apprenticed so young now that she wasn't sure how much luck they would have. Maybe they would be better finding the loyal and attacking... or just leaving to make the pride true and strong again somewhere away from vermin.

"They do not guard the borders. They leave a welcoming party there." He almost snarled. He saw no point in it either. There was no reason for guards if everyone was just let in. The duels were pointless. The rogues could keep coming back until they found someone they could best. They should be thrown from the lands if they were not capable of holding their own the first time. He shook his head after a moment and looked back at her.
"That is all they have left for me." Which was all in all probably for the best. Were he a guard he would have a hard time holding himself back from chasing off rogues who even looked like they could be pitiful. "If you tore them apart it would do no good. They would hold onto their stupid ideals and condemn you." Though he did also wish that the Goddess would return to them. She could set things right...
He raised a brow at her last question. "I ... do not know." He shook his head after a moment. "They train them young. IT would be almost impossible to get to the youngsters before they have a mentor spilling the new ways into their ears." He sighed and looked over the expanse of the desert. "It seems they have made their choice .. and made the wrong one"

Bastet moved closer to Roho, there wasn't much need to do it more so that he was the only one she could ever feel close to in this pride. She leant on him slightly and wondered what would happen. Would the pride ever be? No... she couldn't believe it would.
"What if we left? We could look for all those who left when the prides merged and start again. There must be some desert somewhere that we could claim." It was just a passing though, granted one she had a few times but she was still unsure.
"Maybe we could find them of old and then we could begin again. Capture slaves... teach my mothers ways." She looked over the dunes as he did wondering if maybe here wasn't the answer at all and that they would need to leave before they could find the true spirit of the firekin.
