It shouldn't be too difficult to get the current conversion rates just by searching on the internet about it.
At the time of my posting,
1 USD can be exchanged for 90.2650 JPY
Note: Taken from xe.com

Just for comparison, meals in Japan often cost around 500 to 1000 Yen. Dining at restaurants are likely to set a person back by roughly 1000 to 3000 Yen.

Answer

Coins : 1 yen= 1cent if the yen rate is 100yen to 1 dollar
5 yen = 5cents
10 yen= 10 cents
50
100 yen= 1 dollar or 100 cents
500 yen= 5 dollar bill
Bills:
1000 yen bill=10 dollars
5000 yen bill= 50 dollars
10,000 yen bill= 100 dollars or about 93 dollars with yen rate of 93 yen to the dollar

The amount of 100¥equals roughly about $1.
Currently, the value of the yen equals to about 88.8 cents, do to the flux in which the American economy is in.

If you are planning to go to Japan, now isn't such a good time.

Zenny is CAPCOM's currency seen in the Megaman universe. It's also aptly called that in the Dragon Ball universe as well, but I think it's with one less "N" in it.

Japan's going rate for currency is roughly similar to the American money as everyone has already mentioned. Rely on anything and everything that is labeled 100円!! It'll be a valuable asset to saving money in Japan.
