Nywele got to his paws, the excitement of the day still road hard in his mind. He just couldn't sleep right now and as much as he hated to leave Amani's side, Nywele just had to move about on this late night. He padded from his den and looked around, the weather was fine and the moon lite the landscape just right. The god ventured forth trying not to make to much noise as he passed other dens. Well aware of the many lions, lionesses and cubs trying to sleep. He made his way well past them to gaze at the moon's reflection in the lake. What a wonderful night this was.

The moon was high in the sky as Dareia skirted alongside the wide lake set by the Ukuucha'Wafalme lands. Though it was just after nightfall, her paws were already horribly antsy; it had taken a great deal of stealth to sneak out of the den the way she had, but she'd done it, to great relief of Dareia. She knew she could not stand one more moment of pretending to fall asleep; it drove her mad in her vain attempts to lull herself into a seemingly endless pit of dreams.
Though she knew she shouldn't be out, she felt the need to be. Usually she never traveled so far as the lake; normally she would weave in and out of the varying dens scattered throughout the area. She would do something productive such as making new bracelets for herself out of dried grasses, but today she felt called to the side of the lake.

Nywele breathed deep of the night smells and let his marking glow gold sparkling in the lake's reflection. He flexed his wings in a flash of light and tucked them gently on to his back. Mortals were a bit odd to him, in a way he enjoyed the beauty of the night. Why did they choose to sleep through it and not live in it?
The ryhmeic sounds of night played sweetly into Nywele's ear, but they were suddenly broken. By what though? His ears flicked trying to focus into the sound, wondering if there might be an intruder. It was definitely paw pads, but something was wrong with them to be a lion or lioness. They were far to soft he pondered what it could be, before he could stand it no longer. Nywele turned from his space narrowing his bright yellow eyes that shined in the darkness. "Who's there?"

At the sound of the clearly unexpected voice, Dareia felt the hairs along her spine rise, rigid. She sucked in her breath, surprised by the voice that sounded so near, and so masculine. Dareia hadn't expected anyone else to be out at this time in the night, and that combined with the fact that she failed to recognize the voice made her flight or fight instinct kick in. She felt her tail lower, trembling - she was scared.
Knowing not what else to do, she decided to speak. "I'm... I'm the Sultan's daughter! If y-you hurt me, he'll know!" She tried to sound confident, but even she could hear the distinct tremble in her voice.

Nywele's body language changed to a more relaxed one when he heard the young trembling female voice. He stepped into a more well lit area, where the moon's light danced off his back. He softened his bright yellow eyes as he caught sight of the little cub. "Its alright little one. I am Nywele the new pad and friend of your father. I am the one who saved Ameer from drowning in the lake. And your Aunt is my Beybanu." He hoped and explanation of who he was would calm the little cub.
"What are you doing out so late at night without an adult? You could get hurt!" Nywele said after a moment realizing she shouldn't be out there in the first place.

After seeing the lion step out into the light of the moon, Dareia relaxed - but only a little. Much bigger than herself, the other was the most extraordinary thing she'd ever seen. Tribal markings that looked gold in the moonlight glittered off his otherwise brown pelt, and his mane. Dareia failed to even describe in her mind how his mane looked; she herself was still attempting to process the overwhelming fluffiness of his thick, brown mane. It fell to the soft ground in a neat plain, and fell over his eyes so it was almost hard for her to see the yellow flashing beneath.
Once Nywele explained himself, Dareia felt herself relax immensely. "Oh! Hello there, Nywele." She bowed her head slightly in respect, then continued on, "I am Dareia - my daddy's Banu. For now, anyway. Oh, wow!" She grinned. "That was so brave of you, Nywele! And we're all very thankful you came along, or else..." she trailed off, not wanting to think about anything so terrible at this moment. "Aunt Amani is your Beybanu! That's wonderful!" She smiled, happy that her aunt had now been given to a very worthy male, after having been missing for so long.
At Nywele's question to her, though, she felt her smile fade. "I..." her voice faltered. Not many knew about her "night-wanderings" as she liked to call it, and she preferred to keep it that way. She felt naughty when she really thought about it; she wasn't supposed to be out of bed at this time of night. "I couldn't sleep," she told Nywele truthfully. "I can't ever sleep, so I always walk around. I love the night, and... I guess my body knows I'm not meant to miss out on the beauty of it all." She shrugged, half-heartedly hoping he didn't make it out to be more of a deal than it already was.

Nywele smiled happy that the cub had relaxed he didn't like the idea of scaring Dareia. He sat down while listening to the cub's replies. "I'm sure the Great Sultan your father would have saved Ameer, I only saved him a swim ." Nywele didn't want such a big deal made of something that anyone would have done powers or not. "Yes, yes it is." Nywele said smiling just thinking of Amani made his heart sing.
A cub after his own heart for sure, so not all mortals hated the night. Nywele gave her an understanding and yet still scolding look. "Well I must say and can understand how you feel, for that is the same reason I am out tonight. The only problem being its really not safe for you to be out here alone on your pride's land or not there are still things that can harm you here. If you are so eager for a midnight stroll ask your parents they might allow it and walk with you. Now....I do believe I should take you back to your den." Nywele replied getting to his paws. "But if you promise not to go out a lone again I suppose this can be our secret." He said in a playful whisper hardly feeling like telling on Dareia for loving the night. "Let's go." Nywele said moving towards the dens though seeming in no hurry. He figured there would be no harm in prolonging the walk back so that she could enjoy the night.

Dareia nodded in agreement; her daddy was, after all, a great man and would've saved Ameer has Nyweke never been there. Or at least, she liked to think so. She watched as the lion's smile widened at her mention of his Beybanu. She blinked and smiled alongside him.
Lowering her eyes, Dareia looked toward her paws and nodded softly. "I... I know, Nywele, but..." she trailed off with a half-exasperate sigh. She glanced up just as her whispered playfully of their new secret, and she smiled. She was prety sure she'd like this guy. Getting up to trot alongside him back to the dens, Dareia gasped. She'd seen a small flutter upon his back; some sort of shimmer. She stopped dead in her tracks, staring at him in utter bewilderment. "You have wings?" It wasn't much a question so much as looking for reassurance that she wasn't crazy. Standing there, the wheels of her mind whirling and clicking like never before, Dareia felt her jaw drop. "You're a god?"

The god stopped and looked at his back. "Oh gosh when did I get those?!" Nywele pretended to freak out for a moment then laughed. "Just kidding, yes I have wings." Nywele watched her jaw drop and he lifted his paw tapping her jaw lightly with one toe. "Don't stand there with your mouth open a bug might fly in it, which isn't fun I speak from experience." Nywele laughed again turning back in the direction they had been heading in. "Yes I am a god, but I am no different from any other lion in this pride...save I have a few powers....I prefer to call them talents though."

Collapsing into a fit of giggles, Dareia felt all previous worry wash away from her mind. Nywele was quite humorous, but also, it seemed, very humble. She grinned once the giggles subsided, and fell into step beside him. "That's so cool!" She exclaimed lamely, unable to hide her excitement at meeting a god. "What's your... uh... domain?" She smiled slightly, hoping she'd used the correct word for what he ruled over. Maybe it had to do with his tribal markings? Or maybe even his overly-fluffy fur? Either way, it was too cool; even cooler than being the Sultan's daughter, she thought.

Nywele chuckled at the cub's excitement, it was the about st reaction he had had so far from the pride about his godhood. "My Domain is Manes." Nywele replied giving his mane a shake. "Some think its not a big deal, but manes are very important, maybe not to a female but to a male for certain. Its like a built in pillow for one!" Nywele just couldn't help throwing jokes in he liked hearing her giggle.

"Oh! I was wondering why your mane is so... so lovely!" She grinned, watching his now-shaking mane with a new appreciation. Its pure volume and length was enough to turn any sensible lion's head; but do be god of such a thing? Incredible! Dareia smiled at him and nodded, ready to speak when he mentioned his mane being like a pillow when she fell into a fit of giggles, imagining some form of a pillow hanging off Nywele in place of his luscious mane. "A pillow?" She said once she regained her composure, suddenly wondering what that felt like. "Sounds very comfy!"

Nywele grinned wide the easiest way to get on his good side was to complement his mane. He flicked his tail with happiness at the cubs giggle, it made him more excited for when he finally had a cub of his own. "Yes just like a pillow and it is! But manes also act like armor a thick and healthy mane can protect a lion from blows from their foes or rivals. It helps make males strong and powerful." Nywele told her hoping these were ok things to tell a female cub in this pride. But he also figured it would help her have a better understanding of what makes a male so much more powerful.

Dareia smiled in response to his own smile; when she found other people enjoying her prescence, it made her heart swell with pride; making her even happier than she'd been originally. As he explained the practical functionality of manes, Dareia found herself envious of all her brothers; they were going to grow up to virtually have suit of armors clouding around their handsome faces, but she was to be left vulnerable. Of course, she wasn't the one who was to protect the Banus of the pride, now was she? So it all made sense, really. "That's so cool! And it helps when you get into fights, right? 'Cause the better your mane is, the harder you'll be to defeat, right?"

Nwele was happy to see that she found manes cool. It was good to see that female could understand what a wonder manes were even though she didn't have one. "Right! As you can imagine it would be impossible for claws to get through to my neck and hard if not close to being impossible for another lion to bite my neck. They would get lost in all my hair." Nywele said with a laugh.
