The little cub gave a soft whine, his head lowered, tail curled around one hind limb. Where was he? Where had his brother gone? He had looked and looked and couldn't find him. He looked down, poking at a pawprint in the snow, wishing that it was his brother's though he knew it was his own. So much snow, truth was between the snow and their pale hides, he could have been standing right on top of his brother and not seen him.
They had known each other such a short time and already he could not bear to be apart. Could one be born with such an unbreakable bond? Why didn't he share the same bond with his other siblings? Was it really because he and Van were twins? Or was there more to it? Why did he feel that slight tinge of jealous and yet an overwhelming desire to protect his brother all at once? He didn't understand it, would he ever understand as Father had said he would?
His tail twitched, curling tighter, he suddenly felt cold, lost. Eyes closed tightly, as if hoping, wishing that were he to open them again his brother would suddenly appear. Yet when he opened his eyes all he saw was snow, that same snow they had set out to romp in earlier that day, the same snow that he was now lost in. It was terrifying, how one could look away for only a moment and suddenly find themselves alone.
Looking up, he desperately searched for his brother, a particularly loud whine echoing from his small form, a call for his twin.
Where are you?

A call for his brother choked in to silence, fading into the desperate whimpers that shook his body. He was cold, he was alone, he was afraid. No, he was terrified. He had never been so far from his brother, what if something happened, what he he never saw him again, what if--no! The little cub shook his head, wiping the tears from his eyes with one paw. He had to find his brother, he HAD to!
Gathering his strength, Judeau stood to his paws, taking several cubbish bounds through the snow, searching as hard as he could for his brother. But try as he might, Judeau could find no trace of his brother, he really didn't even know what to look for. Maybe if he could get a better view, someplace high to stand.
.......
Well he did have wings, he could fly right? Right? Small wings unfurled, stretching hopefully, he could do it, he could do it, he could...trip and land face first in the snow. He couldn't fly, he didn't know how.
And the tears began all over again, curling against himself. He felt so alone.

A loud cry best described as a wail feel eerily silent against the packed snow. Was there any chance his brother could have heard him? Could he have heard his brother? Would -anyone- hear him? Would anyone find him?
He wanted to go home! He was cold and afraid and alone. Were he with his brother, surely they could have found their way home together. Now matter how lost they were, they would have been together. But he was alone, so utterly hopeless and alone.
Whine!
The little cub froze, suddenly silent, his ears falling back. He had seen something, a shadow moving across the snow covered ground. Shivering, Judeau hunched over, curling against himself in terror. Something was going to eat him!
But the touch that came was not threatening or cold, it was warm and gentle, a father lifting his child from the snow. His calls had been heard, he'd been found, and though the tears still flowed, he buried himself in the soft reassuring warmth of his father's mane.
"I can't find Van..."
His quiet voice was met with a gentle smile, they would find him.

He was curled in his father's mane, clinging to soft fur with small paws, body heaving softly as tears stained his cheeks. It was almost too much to bear, he had been found, but his brother was not, where was he? What if Father couldn't find him either? What if he never saw his brother again?
It was this thought that haunted him until a shift in his father broke through his thoughts. They were descending? Where they home? Rubbing his eyes against his father's fur to wipe the tears away, the little cub turned to look toward the approaching ground.
What was that? A lump in the snow? Was there someone down there? A sibling? His brother?! It was! A happy squeak, Judeau nearly leapt from his father's arms, bounding to his brother's side with new found energy.
"Van!"
He had barely called out before he had pounced on his brother, chewing on his ear in affection.

Judeau titled his head curiously. Star? What star was Van talking about, what did he mean? Judeau didn't understand. But it didn't matter, they were together again! Judeau was so happy he could have soared to the stars and back again, maybe that's what Van had meant.
Purring, the little cub curled against his brother, brushing against him in brotherly affection. They had been found, they were together, and they would never be separated again.
He could have stayed there with his brother forever, so long as they were together it didn't matter where they were, that was how he felt right then. He hoped he could feel that way forever.
However Father had other ideas, eliciting a squeak from Judeau as he was lifted from his paws again and pulled into that warm embrace. But even in their father's embrace, they were still together, and they were going home, together.
